Something obvious I have noticed with nearly every grow ( even the not so good weed that I thrown away ) My buds are always super sticky. Whenever I break up a buds my fingers get super sticky. Also when I trim , I end up with super sticky scissors. The weed I get from the Despensarie for the most part looks awesome hard and tight buds( from smashing them during trimming) good and frosty, But Rarely sticky icky. Whats up ???

I do have a couple of techniques that I think makes for sticky terpene rich buds. I spike the stem 48 hours before cutting. No lights for 48 hours. Ice cube flush. .

Homegrown will always be greater than dispo weed. Mass produced weed will never live up to homegrown.

IMHO you’re biased…and so am I…which is just fine no?
Dispencery weed is grown, cured, and packaged for a very different consumer audience with different “requirements”. In my experience it tends to be excessively trimmed (tumble trimmers) and excessively dry. My guess is that it’s to eliminate any chance for mold issues post retail packaging. It also predominantly smells the same to me…like hash.
I’ve had great dispencery weed (in terms of effect) but i agree, it’s always lacking when compared to great home grown (which isn’t easy to produce either btw). When i do end up with a good run there’s no comparison…

Yep, I have to agree 100% . Growing your own is definitely not easy. Must have taken me 4 years to get my growing skills fine tuned. I have thrown away pounds. I had problems with all kinds of issues. One by one I have eliminated the issues and now I grow a plant every 3 months. Weed is awesome.

They produce for quantity not quality which we know what lacks when that happens. Presentation matters but what it taste like counts too. We grow for quality which is why homegrown will always out trump dispensary

Most dispensary weed that ive had was harvested too early. Ive got friends that used to work at the farm supplying the local dispensaries they say they always harvest too early.

I grow because I don’t want chemicals sprayed on my wifes weed. I won’t elaborate to much. Things like insecticides and fertilizer sprayed directly on plant. Even man made terpenes. Who knows they may spray it with delta 8 and not tell you.
Anyway my buds are definitely better in all ways from theirs. With the exeption theirs may be tighter. Mind you mine are tight and frosty. I know I don’t know [and don’t care to know] a lot of people. The ones I do know say mine is the is equal or better than any other grower. They will also it is better than any dispensary weed.

Extremely hard buds can be a sign of growth hormone being used , also many of the banned pesticides seem to end up on weed and even some that aren’t supposed to be used on consumable plants at all … ever . Poor curing techniques plus over handling are also issues . Quality is definitely under homegrown .

Not only is growing your own superior to dispensary cannabis, it’s cheaper and more rewarding… I would like to own a mountain and plant cannabis all over said mountain.

Most commercially grown weed is freeze dried to preserve it so it has a very verry low moisture content leave a small piece of bud out for a few days and just let completely dry out youll see its not as sticky dry bud will still stick to your fingers as it will be powdery but it wont leave your fingers tacky in the same way
