Old Seeds or Over Watering?

I started a new planting a couple of weeks ago.
1 OG Kush Auto, 2 White Widow Auto.
OG Kush appears to be thriving, White Widows are not.
All pots were perhaps over watered before planting.
I can tell one pot of WW has signs of overwatering, but the other one is also stunted.

WW seeds are 3 years old, OG Kush are probably 18 months.
Photos for reference. (second little seedling in one pot was because one seed didn’t appear for a while so I started another.)

If they split and break the surface of the medium, then the age of the seed shouldn’t have an impact on the growth. I’ve ran some that were 10 years old. :call_me_hand:t3:

At this stage they shouldn’t be getting watered necessarily. The medium should have already been wet on planting. The roots at this stage are beginning to stretch and feel out their environment. They are easily overwhelmed this early. It can take several days between feeds in this stage.

If you planted them into a dry medium watering the outside perimeter of the pot should be enough to hold them over for quite some time.

Spray inside a clear solo cup set over all 4 keep the best from the 2 pot. Remove solo’s 2 or 3 times a day. If dry inside spray and put back on. I like a pencil size hole in the top of cup also. Removing cup is not to check wetness but to give fresh air. It is just a ggod time to see if cup is moist.

So I thought I’d give you an update:

The OG Kush (front) is thriving, the first WW to break out was too yellow and sickly looking, so I replaced it with the one I’d planted a week later (the rightmost pot). The other WW is finally starting to take off (the one in the back, and standalone pic). You can see she is a little messed up in appearance. In fact, looks better this evening than when I took that picture.

Note: The WW in back and the OGKush in the front are the same age. This is what I was dealing with.

Should be ok from this point. Have to be honest though. The beginning of an auto’s life is important. Some really good growers get plants that only produce a 1/4 ounce. On the other hand some get plants that seem like they won’t do anything and they pass up the ones that looked good. Hopefully they all take off.

Yes, I read an earlier thread where someone said they could be effected because they’re autoflowers. At this point I’ll just have to hope for the best. A learning opportunity.
Thanks for your help!
