If i could just remove a few leaves my lst would be better
i get defol in flower, take away shade for lower budsites…but in veg im of the impression the plant is glad of every leaf she gets. lets not forget 99% of her energy is gained through fotosynthesis happening mainly in the leafs. why would we want to cut away her solar panels? i also noticed tha she will start yellowing leafs that are completely shaded, it looks like she takes care of un productive leafs by herself.
i might be way off here and hope for some more experienced input
I am kind of afraid to cut any some say autoflowers can be funny about stuff like that. reason i ask is 21 days old an almost fill top of 5 gal bag huge leaves. good thing for lst.
Cut them. I too was nervous. I took off a ton of leaves. No side effects, no sign it was bothered at all. I personally believe you can do anything to autos that you could do with photos.
That would make things easier just a few but it is still in veg???
As long as you don’t go crazy and lollipop them, taking off some of the bigger fan leaves shouldn’t hurt. Just cut them as close as you can but be careful not to do any other damage while you’re cutting. I think you’ll be just fine. If you want, test it. Pick one plant, cut off say…4 fan leaves blocking the light. See how it does the next day. I bet you won’t notice a difference except more light.
I first started to try and train the leaves by pulling them down with plant trainers I found on amazon. Every day they would pop back up. I eventually just cut them and hoped for the best. Next day and days after, no difference in the plant. It did just fine.
Hope this helps but this is only my opinion. Some others on here might have a different take.
If you are unsure maybe a picture could help giving you some better advise…
Yes i agree. two are 3 times as wide as tall after lst and i cant see the stems any more leaf tucking only goes so far but i dont want to stress and cause something bad to happen
i will get some help with that truth is it is going better than i thought
IMO, the plants are tougher than we think they are.
Better air movement or more light to lower bud sites seems to help potential yield more than a couple extra fan leaves. Just don’t take more than 10% of the leaves in any one day and I think you’d be fine.
Did the deed but only a few fan leaves and some off the bottoms I will get pic Thank you for clearing that up.
I trimmed my autos, just like literally between like 4-7 leaves a day, and that’s pushing it IMO, to trim= to stress, and too much will definitely affect your plant, it’s by an individual basis, just because myself and others have done it, does mean DO IT, it means we’ve done it, HAD SUCCESS, and for you to try if you’d like, it’s always a Gamble if your not familiar with how that strains genetics handles stress, but I’d say yes it’s ok, but like everything else try is in just one or two of each strain and see how they react, cuz IF they happen to be super sensitive to stress like my autos CRYSTAL METH, they could have a negative affect, I had one turn germ
Its been only a few hours but i did turn the lights down and mist when they dried lights back up
