Oh no, yellow leaves on flowering plant!

Hi there everybody!

Lots going on in JPM’s garden. I harvested the first two plants, more info on that to come later.

However, I have a new plant flowering and it’s leaves are turning yellow. I’ve looked at the chart but I can’t tell from the images on it what the problem might be. I have been introducing AN nutes/supps and am now up to 2ml per liter.

Anybody have any insight? @MattyBear, @blackthumbbetty, @Covertgrower, @WickedAle, @Myfriendis410, @dbrn32

Thanks for any help!

Have a bloom booster? Big Bud?

She looks to be several weeks into flower (6?), so PK deficiencies are common. If the pH is in check, then just go ahead and add some more PK.

Once you start preharvest flushing, you’ll see these beautiful colors more, but you’ll actually want them, at that point.

Yes, Big Bud and Bud Candy. It’s in the 5th week of flower.

By 2ml per liter is that total of all your bottles or of each bottle? I’m also wondering which bottles you’re using altogether, and if you’re checking ph and ppm? And, what is the growing medium?

What’s you’re low temp?

To answer @dbrn32 question, 2ml of each per Liter. I’m at the limit for the supps (Big Bud, Bud Candy) but still have up to 4ml for the basics.

@Drinkslinger, sometimes hits 61 F.

What strain - Bagseed
Method: - 2/3 Coco Loco & 1/3 used FFOF (I know, I know, lol).
Vessels: - Smaller pot, this was started on 12/12 after about 2 weeks sprout as an experiment and actually was female, woohoo.
PH of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable) - 6.6, tap, run-off 6.6
PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable - 602 in, 807 out.
Indoor or Outdoor - Indoor
Light system - @dbrn32 BAF Light (Bright as F***)
Temps; Day, Night - Between 61-68
Humidity; Day, Night - 41-38
Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size - Big square fan pointing in the general direction to create some movement.
AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier, - Not specifically for growing
Co2; Yes, No - No

A pic of the whole plant will help.
Your temps are low, so you’re getting that purpling. It’s a little early to do that. You can, but you run the risk of locking out important nutes and reducing yield. I’d try to at least get temps into the 70’s during the day. She’ll mature quicker.
I’ve been playing around recently with low temps. :+1:

If the ffof has been well flushed prior to use, it’s almost inert. Don’t sweat that. But… your pH is too high for coco.

I’m just thumb eyeballing here but,

Doesn’t seem like it would equal this.

I’m assuming you’re using 3 part. I asked but the only thing you really responded with is “the basics”. Anywhere near 4ml per liter of all 3 bottles should have ppm way over 602. That’s like 16 ml per gallon of each. Not to mention another 8ml per gallon of two different supplements.

I know advanced nutrients are a rip off, but they’re not really watered down that much, are they? I would expect ppm 2-3 times that. I would also agree with that much coco your ph may be a little high.

Man, I’m just confused with all the info to be honest. I had the same nutes in the last grow coming out at 2000-3000ppm. Harvested great. And I agree @dbrn32 that it doesn’t add up (or down, haha). And as a newbie still, what am I to know?

I’m using the three part, Micro, Grow, Bloom. These will maybe be added at more incremental parts each time. Up to 4ml. The Big Bud and Bud Candy are at 2ml/L each.

@Drinkslinger, so I should treat this as more coco, than a soil? It’s supposed to be a mix of coco and supplements and I mixed it with the other soil, hoping that would be good. My first grow was the FFOF and maybe it had more of the nutrients than the CL.

Dang camera won’t sync up to the computer right now! Hopefully pics later.

Thanks!

Thank you for the reply and I don’t mean to be dumb, but how do I add just P and K?

Thanks,

I’m running the same nutes - sounds like you’re cutting your nutes per gallon in half (if only maxing at 4ml)… towards the end of flower should be cutting grow and going either a 4/6 or 4/8 micro/bloom ratio. I understand if want to go up slow but that should put you in the 7-800s. Additive nutes by an don’t affect my ppms all that much, I run big bud synsezime bud candy and overdrive. Overdrive has the highest impact but I only use 3-5ml per gallon of those. Hope the comparison might help in some way. Cheers👍

Looks like she’s just using up stored nutes. It’s a good thing. Those look like older fan leaves anyway.

@Sirsmokesalot he’s mixing per liter not per gallon. There’s nearly 4 liters to 1 US gallon.

@JonnyPM no worries, I’m just as confused lol. Ideally you want your base nutes pretty well on lock, and then to tinker with your other bottles. Your base nutes for the most part will take them all the way to harvest healthy when applied properly. The supplements are just that, supplementing your base regimen.

I think @Drinkslinger was onto something with your temps, but you want to get your nutes straight too. Revisit your schedule and take a look at what is recommended for where you’re at in grow and mix up the base nutes in correct order, then check your ppm. If ppm is lower then recommended by a little, then add your supplements. If it’s good, go with it. If it’s really high, then just water down to recommended ppm level.

I was thinking that cause flowers look really good Thanks!!!

Here’s a pic from today and it looks worse. This is a tiny plant, around 10" tall.

I just watered two days ago so I can’t add or flush anything.

What can I do right now, like today, to get her going in the right direction? I’m clueless, sorry.

Thanks again,
JPM

You can ALWAYS flush! Just add a large catchment and ph your water 6.2-6.8 and run a gallon through it. Your pot looks a little small to me but I think that ship has sailed imo.
As for a reason to the lockout there are far more qualified people to answer that question.

They will shortly ask you what strain, what week you are in. Your PH in and your PH out. What nutes and how much you used. The more information you provide makes it easier for the pros to diagnose what the problem is.

Yeah, I’ll flush it and see what happens.

The plant was an experiment, I put it on 12/12 from when it sprouted just to see what would happen. I was just lucky it was a girl.

Support ticket was filled out above.
