Nutes pH in & out

Fem/Auto Outdoor container grow, soil- Fox Farm “Strawberry Fields”, (first feed) Base water pH 6.9, add nutes"Bergmans seedling 11-40-13 @ 1/2 rate, pH 5.5 (in), Runoff 5.2 (out). Is there a need to adjust nute pH up next feed? ppm, tds n/a @ this time Seems to have lowered pH considerably from base. Any guidance would be great.

Welcome to the forum!!! With soil you are shooting for a ph around 6.3 to 6.8 with 6.5 being the sweet spot. If not kept in this area, your plants can be locked out of recieving their proper nutrients. So yes, next time after adding your nutes, check your ph and adjust accordingly!! Good luck bud!! :call_me_hand::call_me_hand:

Here is a chart to better understand the importance of ph. If you have anymore questions or concerns, there are tons of people here with alot of experience that will help!!

Thanks for the welcome mat & your feed back- New to the forum thing, hope I’m going at this properly. Third year growing with unknown strains, local soil, minimal nutes, well water, etc. and no technical efforts at all with "some’ decent results. Finally decided to put more effort going forward, Lot’s of reading, research, but little experience and (a bit shy) with actually making the numbers right, etc. I believe I understand that the nutrients or just soil runoff will normally lower the pH, so when adjusting the Nutrient pH am I looking for that sweet 6.5 going in or out from the runoff? Note: pH runoff has consistently been at the extreme low end of the Ideal range during normal watering with a 6.9-7.0 pH. Am I correct in assuming adjusting pH a bit higher going in would get me closer going out? Thanks Again!

I run an organic soil(fox farm ocean soil) and I always shoot for 6.5 in. Whenever I water it might come out 6.6 or 6.7 but thats within that range. I know some soils have a buffer that may mess with your ph but im not the knowledgeable one whenever it comes to different types. I can certain lead you in the right direction by tagging some people who know the ends and outs!! @Countryboyjvd1971 @garrigan62
