When i use jacks i mix 3 gallons worth. 11.37ish g in one gallon jug. 7.56ish in another gallon jug and 3ish g of epsom in a 3rd gallon jug. When all 3 containers are dissolved i mix them together. It takes time that i don’t always have.
My question is would their be any negative effects if i were to just make up a bunch of sets of gallon jugs and then just grab gallons and mix together pre dissolved when i need to use it?
pH will tend to drift if you let nutrient mixes sit. You’ll need to readjust pH each time you feed.
11g or 7g in a single a gallon of water will have trouble dissolving completely. Ensure that all of the granuals are dissolved before feeding.
Thanks @MidwestGuy That is a good point i never thought about the saturation point of water. does anyone know jacks solubility in water? I don’t think I’ve had any issue with them dissolving completely
I don’t know what the limit is, but I put ~5g per gallon (in a gallon milk jug) and I have to shake the heck out of the jug to get it to dissolve completely.
My routine lately is to add the nutes to the 3 separate milk jugs, shake a few times and let it sit overnight. Shake again and pour a and epsom into 5 gal bucket then pour b into bucket. Mix it around ph the entire thing then pour back into the 3 jugs to feed.
I found weighing each one takes the most time for me at least. It’s always that’s too much, take some out, now it’s not enough and repeat until i say ok that’s close enough. I think really i just want to store it in liquid form. Or maybe i can weigh it out and make a scoop of some sort that will hold that amount
I mix 18g of part a in a solo cup of ro water and 6 of epsom and 12 of part b this is for 5 gallons. I let the cups sit til next day and theyre completly dissolved and i mix into half full 5 gal. Bucket then add ph down ( for me) as needed and then any extras such as pk boosters. Never have a problem with dissolving. Less than overnight and getting the part a to dissolve takes a lot of stirring.
Everything I’ve read about nutrients (not specifically Jack’s) says use them within a week of mixing them. They also say drink the milk by the date on the jug but it goes in my cereal if it doesn’t stink.
I dont know if im mixing them per say. More like liquefying each part. Either way ive had no ill effects yet so ill just plug along until i do. Push the limits and see what happens
I have to feed my girls separately with their own gallons. All my runoffs are different. Sometimes their hungry, sometimes just thirsty. Besides, i have to write down each one in my book or my brain is a mush pile.
Mine should be too but they all get fed/ watering when they all need it. Unless something goes haywire.
Things learn a harsh lesson in my house. Clothes get separated into dirty or clean. No lights/darks/active wear. Aint got time for that. Tumble dry no heat. Ha! That means you can go in the dryer with the rest of them.
2 out of 3 need water ahhh ill just wait until they all need water lol
Idk why you’d have any issues then. You’re basically using a few cents worth of Jack’s to make the equivalent of a $30-40 gallon of liquid nutes.
