Have a northern lights auto the is in week 13 but still clear trichs and no amber should I harvest?
only if you want crappy weed patience and you will be rewarded try to post a close up picture and the experts here will advise you
Should not be crappy weed, bought the seeds from this site
Wait for the cloudy or amber trichomes. He just meant it won’t be ready, which won’t get you the effects you’re going for.
Be patient young grasshopper. If you pull it early, you may as well throw it out as it will do absolutely jack all. I know as I have pulled many to early. Now I have a Jeweler Loupe and is a non-issue now
I have a jewelers loop but I am not seeing any amber at all, from my research it’s telling me to harvest when cloudy and a bit amber, is this correct? I will post pictures, is it normal to go 13 weeks?
@latlaf67
What week did you first see pistils show ?
Yes
Depends when it started to actually flower
I’ve had them run up to 16 weeks for one that didn’t show pistils till week 5.
I am with you on Autos taking up to 16 weeks to finish. Why I hate them so.
@latlaf67 I don’t waste my time chasing to get amber. I hate couch lock as I want to stay pretty clear headed. I am only smoking so my debilitating pain can be controlled so I don’t so something drastic. I also don’t like Head Highs but on a rare occasion I do when I am really suffering as I have spent 1/2
my life in serious pain.
I keep reading about jewelers loops and how they are used to identify the trichomes. I’m nowhere near harvest but thinking about grabbing a loupe before I get there. What do the trichomes look like under the loupe?
Try a Carsons pocket microscope, it will get much closer and much clearer. 11 bucks on Amazon. Its kind hard to tell what your trich’s look like with those pictures. Would hate to cut all your hard work short!
This is the one I have and IMHO it puts jewelers loops to shame.
Those are a pain. I tossed mine. Its easier to see with the Jeweler Loupe. I was so pissed I smashed mine against the wall.
You are trying to compare Apples to oranges. Most Loupes go to 60x magnification. Those go past 200x magnification.
Lol really? Dang that bad? I love mine I just clip a tiny sample and give it a look!
Yup I smashed it so hard I have a break in the wall. Now the view is awesome. No doubt. But when it comes to easy to use, the Loupe will win every time.
I will give it that loop is much easier in the field. I was just saying I prefer the procision of the Carson. Like you said 60x vs 200x.
Oh I agree. Like I said. I have used $1 million plus Microscopes. The one lens we had was only $250k for one of the magnifications.
I am tempted to get a GI Scope off Amazon. I don’t post pictures of my trichomes. I just need to see and 30x and 60x works.
I also use the Loupe to look at the Greek and Roman artifacts I own. It works for me.
Take your thing and look at your skin. You can see the white crystals all over your skin. That really sets apart a Loupe of max 60x va 200x and higher.
Loupes work great when you’re younger, but when you get old and the vision starts going, seeing small details with my once reliable loupe is no longer a viable option. Now I need photos I can blow up on a screen.
@latlaf67 there are lots of great people on here to help out! Maybe you could get a few clearer pictures and I’m sure you will find your answer!
I use one of 25 dollar hand held scopes from amazon it works well
