Hi @Lostgirl . Hope all is well with you and yours. What you growing?
Hi ya @T-ray all is well here. Not growing anything at the time. Took some time off as it was well needed. I’m a little more than 1-1/2 years retired and being confined to a tent all the time is not always a good thing.
Summers around the corner and I’m going to try and outdoor grow. Thinking maybe October I’ll come back to do a tent full inside ![]()
What are you up to? Thanks for checking in!

I remember you now… I just hadn’t seen you post in awhile so … you know I smoke and all…now that you mention it I did spell his name wrong… hope you have a great Taco Tuesday growmie…
I see somebodys ready! Never too early i guess. Hope all is well in your neck of the patch. What we growing thats new? And what kinda old school you still fooling with?
I have a cross of Lemon Berry candy and Skunk #1 that I’m really liking. Heavy yields with a loud lemon skunk smell.
I have found a better deterent for outside critters. Seems to work on many insects as well.
Mix vinegar with cayanne pepper but dont get it on any pot plants. Stay back a couple feet.
Stuff stops dogs and cats especially hole diggers.
Thanks for all the well wishes and views. And the anniversary wishes. I love this community. @2GreenThumbs I watched your outdoor last year closely. Nice work.
I have been gone the last 10 days in Yuma arizona and San Diego with my extended family and kids. Here has what’s been happening…
We had a 3 day frigid snap right after I left where it got down to 19deg f outside. I moved all the cannabis out to the greenhouse from the fishroom. We are officially all outdoor solar radiation now. No supplemental lights or heat. I was worried the plants would be frozen. If I was home I would have tossed in a space heater those three nights. My electric thermometer logs the rh/and temp min and max for each day. Then graphs it for 90 days back. Too cold for comfort at 32deg f in the greenhouse. I am very lucky they did not die. My bananas and citrus got a little crispy and defoliated heavily. The avocados, tea plants and pineapples seemed just fine. The arabica coffee plants looked very sad.
Anyway, this spring’s collection of seedlings, keeper males and old keeper gems: ![]()
The northern lights got repotted today from 6” small pots (up from 4” original pots) into 1 and half gallon pots. They will be there until sex shows. Then I will wedding cake the plants ontop of bigger grow bags filled with the raised bed soil.
Before uppot:
After uppot:
The gift ILGM photo Hindu kush plant from @DEEPDIVERDAVE is doing great. It seems happy in greenhouse life. The 2 clones I took are happy too.
The ILGM auto afghani diverdave had me bottom finish after he harvested the top is doing well too. Lots of terps and colors.
The diverdave gifted seedling is officially female. It’s the one I dropped into the baby Axolotl tank to grow hydroponically. I fimmed it today with my thumbnail. It had doubled in size and shot out some roots into the tank.
Here’s a little more about my uppot of the NL seedlings. I used coffee grounds, urine soaked char, rotted leaves, and fill from my living soil raised beds. No commercial mixes or fertilizers added.
Now the fill from the beds. I left them in the pouring rain for 4 hours (till dark) to water them in…
My beds are starting their 19 grow season this spring. They have been made over the years with some commercial Ammendments like chicken manure and azomite. But mostly lasagna style table scraps, homemade wood stove urine char, and every fallen leaf litter I can collect from my and my neighbors yards.
It has been 8 years now since I have added anything that I did not collect on my own lot. I have 3 tumbler chambers that I add all table scraps to. I do this with OCD attention to detail. I even pick the cheerios and pop corn seeds out of the dustpan at sweeping. Always be making soil I tell myself every single morning! My 3 kids waste a mountain of food and make a pile of waste scraps like apple cores and bannana peels, or pizza crusts.
Aged tumbler goo. Going out tomorrow onto the beds. The third chamber is full so I want to dump these and let the current full one work with no new inputs.
Aged compost table scraps right and left 55 gallons each side. 110 gallon drum. Both sides were packed full, once aged it breaks down to black gold.
The current full one. Holds 50 gallons of table scraps. No more space so time for the rotation.
I also make anaerobic stinky weed soup. Basically I stomp noxious weeds like dandilions and blackberries and spirg down into 5 gallon buckets. Pack a shovel full of char, and cap it w urine. Leave it for 6 weeks. Then pour out the molasses like sludge onto the fallow raised beds. Also do the ditto routine with storm beached kelp fronds from the Washington winter coast. Clams and rotten kelp goo. Oh my my garden is salivating. The clam shells go into the beds too. Just like chicken and turkey and pork and beef bones. Char into the wood stove or toss them into the tumblers so you do not get rats. That’s my living soil routine. Happy growing my friends. ![]()
morning growmie… nice work with making your soil compost…
Nice setup @noddykitty1 beautiful compost my friend happy growing
Everything is gonna reveg isnt it?
Yes that is the end goal. You are exactly right. I will cull half between males and bad traits in the spring flower run. Even if I keep their seeds.
Pollen them out, reveg seeds on board, harvest seeds and cut all buds, plant reveg plants out in raised beds. Seed free outdoor fall harvest. Pop the spring seeds and grow the next generatation next to the mamas by the solstice. Basically I do two generations of pheno hunts in one season. Sun style🌞
And I am not chucking pollen during anyone’s flower season. Instant bad karma. Bugs and slugs if you seed out everyone else’s outdoor fall buds.
Northern Lights are chilling in the greenhouse. They are getting used to the new pots. Seem to be doing well. 20 min before sunset tonight.
This is what I did today.
Happy Cake Day ! Happy Growing can’t wait to get back in the Field myself after an unusually Cold snowy winter in the South
