That’s a great idea with the cfl’s…go for a drive around the neighborhood the night before bulk garbage p/u and find a multiple socket light fixture like the pic. Then diy it with the cfl’s. The more the merrier
You can then put splitter sockets into each one and have 8 cfl’s
Here are new pics. I topped the choco and plan on bending the lemon around it after I repot to keep lighting as easy as possible.
I had read that CFL bulbs worked before starting so thats what I got, then someone commented that they wouldnt work for a full grow. Ive also seen those 20$ led light boards. I dont think theyd be much better.
Not sure which light “boards” your talking about surely NOT the ones I just posted. @Razzledazzle like I said before man I am not the go to guy about anything but lights are the #1 investment. Get it right the first time or get it right after getting it wrong. Everybody starts somewhere - it’s up to you to do the research and ask the right questions. EVERYBODY here loves to talk about growing weed. So you can ask anything about anything and get a response!!! Believe it or not with a little bit of reading and this forum you’ll be up to speed on it ALL very quickly. You couldn’t have found a better site
I haven’t read your entire thread but one quick thing I noticed… take them glass globes off the lights and also if you have LED’s under them you can remove the casing like so, the caps pop off giving you much more light…
Ill do that. Im also going to make a reflective box for them so the light isnt wasted. What kind of led is that? Is that what you use?
Thats the “light board”
No not no mo…that was pre-knowledged attempt. That bulb is about 2 yrs old. I’ve only been growing indoors now for 2 yrs. I dabbled without much success the last 10 yrs outside. I just want to be honest and let you know where I stand
Thats where I am right now. Just trying to make it work. Did you see that link?
1 pound can be done easy even w 1 plant really. (ScroG w 3 month veg)
BUT even out of the gate 4 O’s per plant isn’t unheard of. I usually end up w/ 4 or 5 plants a grow and yes an elbow is easily doable w 4 girls. Even if you get 2 ounces/plant that’s still a half pound with 4!!!
I had one of these and it was great for seedlings. I sold it on eBay. They are cheaply made and not good past seedling. Below is how the lights go together.
Fox farm all the way babey
fox Farm all the way to forever never land
Now that’s a light if iv ever seen one go big or go home
I was going to try and explain all this but these pictures will do it better. Your plants would benefit by more light.
Now…I have seen people grow using cfl’s. The were using a tent that was 2x2x4 not very big. The had 4, 55 watt bulbs on the posts and 6, 55 watt bulbs that they could raise with plant growth. They accepted that they were going to get small yields, grow 1 maybe 2 plants at a time and and larfy buds.
It does not sound like that is what you are interested in long term and that is why we are recommending to buy once cry once.
This chart was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you
When you said that one I posted only worked for seedlings because it was cheaply made… Does that mean the output wasnt strong enough like shown in the chart you just posted? So get the same style, led array, but just better quality?
Yes the out put would not do what you are looking to achieve. The one you posted is advertised at 45 watts read the fine print and I bet it says that the real watts at about 15. The light chart was probably from one that was advertised at 1000w light that really pulled 200 watts. The material in these less expensive light is lower quality. Have you decided what size area you want to initially light?
It would be recommended that if you are forging to transplant from the pots they are in now you go to a soil buffered for cannabis. It will save some headaches in the future.
