I was told that my buds are beyond harvesting because of a “nipple” on the top of main cola. And, I have “warts” growing on the bud. I tried not to laugh, but, this person has been growing for 20+ years, after all! I, however, look at trichomes, pistils. Now, as a first time grower, I find myself pacing, worrying, triple checking pics of “ready” buds (trichomes) and, of course hovering over my girls. Who knows anything or everything on this subject.
Sounds like fox tailing to me but Pics would help a lot. If that’s the case you should still be OK.
Thanks, ya I found an example of Fox tailing and appears same. [cid:storage_emulated_0__EmailTempImage_1_RotateImage_20170126_221417_jpg_1485489006654]
wont hurt them buds and they look to have one to 2 weeks left till harvest .a few things that cause this is too much light (.to intense ) high temps , weak genetics .a change in nutes late in the game . That said it dosnt mean that they’ll be any thing wrong with the smoke . last crop i raised 3 separate strain’s and one of them did this as well .but when done produced buds that were hard to the touch ,because of the resin content . .
Hammer .
Thanks for the inputs. Two things I did that are learning experiences. First: I ran out of R/O water with last watering with nutes (54th day in flower) and ignorantly used waste water from dehumidifier. Secondly, I think I added too much big bloom fertilizer trying to get Ph. closer to 6.8. At first the fan leaves curled closed. I noticed this after two days. I was close to flushing, anyway, so decided to go ahead and flush early to try and save my girl. The flush appeared to work as the leaves uncurled but tips and edges browned. 3 days after flushing the fans stopped browning and there was still green in the centers of fans. Sugar leaves not affected. Trichomes are plentiful and now at day 60 of flower trichomes are still mostly clear and just starting to get milky. Fox tailing has white pistils and appears to be fattening with warts developing. This plant is Amnesia Haze. Temps: 73-78. Humidity 42-50 constant.
one last thing . to ponder .why would you use a nute to ph balance ?? now you see the effect this can cause .? the curling is called the CLAW or clawing . one more using the waste water can add other contaminates to the grow its why i wont use mine period …Many years ago i did this to and had Major issues . in a pinch try running it thru a charcoal filter first . a house hold will work . But its not a great idea . but it’ll clean it up a good bit . done that and didn’t have the problem’s that i did when running it unfiltered . the dehumidifier run’s the air over the coils and build’s dust and all sorts stuff on them so then adding this to the system can lead to major issues … Hope this helps for future reference . . Been there Done that my self .lol .it’s how i learned about it . take care and happy growing .

Thanks hammer. Ya, I know, “stupid is as stupid does”. Can’t really explain where my logic came from, but, yes learning experience. I purchased R/O system and set it up, so should be good for future. For 100 days of grow I was diligent with water, PH, only nutes…seaweed extract and silicon…to exact specs. as directed by growers. Where my brain fart came from I have no clue. I think it is somewhat saved, but the proof will be in the smoke. BTW…growing 3 plants under 900w led. Other two (A.K. and Gold Leaf) are doing very well, with no probs. at all. Thanks a lot for your caring. Means the world. These are pics of the them. 1st. A.K. 2nd. Gold Leaf
@Budman420, NO NO not stupid …Just learning the never ending school .
And those picts tell me your on course very well .
