Hey everybody I am on my second grow and the first-time doing Autos. I am currently on day 80 (Week 11) The trichomes are barely stating to show any amber. I am not sure how much longer I have and was wondering when I should start the flush process. I think I need to start the flush soon but since I am still new at this, I was hoping to get some second opinions. Thanks!

Depending on what type of feeling you are searching for… here is a chart on trichome ripeness. Im harvesting tomorrow nite, just gonna give these two ladies one final night cause im tired and theres ALOT of trimming to do… with this grow of Sunset Sherbert i was shooting for an all cloudy with a little amber.
I think youll be ready in a week. That about what mine looked like a week ago. Here is a few i took tonite.

Why bother? It really does nothing positive for the taste, smell or potency. Bro-science says it stops uptake of chemicals and affects the taste/smoothness but there are actual studies that show a preference for the unflushed over flushed. Flushing only washes chemicals out of the grow medium. The roots begin to break the chemicals down and the plant converts that to the sugars it needs to survive and thrive. The best thing to do is give your plant the best growing environment you can for the whole grow. That includes full light and regular feeding right up to chop day then a good bath and they are ready to dry.

I get that and I understand it’s a debate, a heated one actually (I’ve come to notice in the last few days) I’m mainly concerned because the nutrients company themselves say to flush the last 4-7 days https://www.jacksnutrients.com/cannabis-hemp-schedules. I am just not sure when I will be 4-7 days out from cutting it down.

Thanks for the reply! I was figuring a week or so left but wasn’t to sure. Can I ask you opinion of flushing?

I personally dont flush because i use living soil and am strictly organic.

Looks like your pretty close maybe a week or more to go if it was mine
As far as flushing goes I dont flush before harvest. I grow in the ground. I also wash it all before drying it.

I also use fisht, but cease it’s application in MY final ripening weeks… In MY opinion The nitrogen in it perpetuates pushing growth rather than ripening… The jacks also has nitrogen… If I’M trying to get my girls to finish out (they’re hairs are red/brown from top down), I cease any form of nitrogen, even going to just ph’d molasses water to get an ambering response. Wether others call this flushing or not; it’s the ambering response I’m looking for.
BTW…Nice trees

That no one here has participated in making it bro science itself

Thank you. Yea this sounds like a good method. I didn’t give molasses other than what was in recharge this grow. I think I’ll give at least a week of just phed water.

I’ve always been curious what do people use when they budwatch?

Bud wash with water/hydrogen peroxide mix in one 5g bucket, lemon/baking soda/water mix in second bucket, and straight water in 3rd bucket.

I have plants now that started off on the same salt-based nutrients but are currently finishing on gaia green. My next girls will be pure organic and then hopefully from there I want to try living soil.

@FreeWorldOrder once you go organic, you wont look back.

If I am using fftrio I only give ph’d water for the last 2 weeks. If I’m using Jacks 321 they are fed this until they’re chopped.

Seems like less work honestly. And some say it’s better on the end taste/smell

Jacks schedule says to flush the last 2 weeks but since I’m in Coco I didn’t want to start too early.

I apologize if I did this wrong. Growing a NL auto in a 2x2 with a variable LED light, next to a Jack Herer auto with a full spectrum LED. Clearly, there was no method to my madness. Ultimately, I was just curious. I have an injury that precludes me from being able to work. Cannabis got me off of opiates, and doing nothing makes me want to effing lose my sh*t. I figured I’d give growing a try. I know I didn’t do well this 1st time around, and I’m fine with that. But hell, at least I don’t feel like I want to kill myself, right? Used Fox Farm soil, worm casting concentrate and Mega Crop 9-7-14 nutes.

The NL looks sad, but appears to be blooming quite nicely. My JH is flowering and appears to be quite happy for now. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on what to do with the NL moving forward (should I call it and start trying to dry and salvage what I can?) and what to do to keep my JH happy, assuming my having zero skill or know how makes this worth anyone’s time. Be well.
