Newbie (and dumb?) seeking help moving outdoors to indoors

Hello! First time grower - I kind of didn’t really intend to grow but have ended up doing so and I’ve been kind of.. just hoping for the best and doing the odd bit of googling stuff but now I actually need some advice.

I’ve noticed that the usual procedure when posting for help is to include strain, growing conditions etc - however my situation is a little unusual.

  • I’ve been growing outdoors in pots, but still undercover (under a clear light patio, in NZ).

  • I have a strain that has been grown from seed (late November-ish) that was given to me, no idea what it actually is but I know it’s pretty much outdoors bush (unhelpful, I know!). I got the males out immediately with these ones, so I know I did at least one thing right haha.

  • I also have a strain of something that seems to be more potent and is beginning to show purple leaves, that I was given clones of around Christmas time. These plants are fairly small just due to the time pressure of only having 3.5 months to root and vege before flowering.

  • Both strains are currently in flower, I have no idea how many weeks in, as pretty much until today I didn’t realise that counting the flowering weeks mattered

The situation I have now is that the weather is becoming cold and windy, tipping my plants over and they’re also becoming quite smelly - plus I had a close call today when our neighbour just wandered in to our back garden where they live. So because of all this I’ve decided I need to move them inside.

I have a music studio to keep them in with light through the window, but because they’re decently in to the flowering period I’m terrified about ruining the plants and losing my crop. To be honest, when I planted them I didn’t think I’d get this far.

The studio has a window for ventilation and I can get some lights if needed (?).

Because of the terrible weather they have spent a few periods here and there of being inside over the past month, but usually only overnight or for some of the day during a storm.

Does anyone have any advice for how I can keep pushing through with these gals until harvest time? They’ve kind of become quite precious to me and I feel like I’m so close to having my first ever home grow to enjoy!

I’ve included some photos, I don’t know how helpful they are! A while ago someone told me to trim fan leaves so I did that on one of each strain as an experiment - I’m starting to think that was bad advice. But it does explain why some of them look weird in the pics.

I am planning to learn and do a proper grow indoors just so I’m not reliant on the sun cycle for growing my own smoke - this group is already incredibly helpful for future me. But current me who just put some seeds in pots and hoped for the best has no idea what to do

Thanks in advance y’all

I’m still kind of a noob and would defer to the more experienced members here, but my advice would be to leave them in their pots, get a light (preferably full spectrum) that you can put on a 12 on 12 off timer, and some sort of ventilation (a carbon filter would do you really good - these girls will get STINKY). You really don’t want to start transplanting during flower - they can still go hermaphroditic.

Beyond that, just water them from drench to drought and keep an eye on your trichomes for harvest.

They look really good, BTW - keep up the good work!

Just wanted to chime in and tell you that your plants look really good and healthy.

I cant offer much help, im sure some more experienced growers can offer some advice once they see this thread.

But yeah man, plants look really happy :sign_of_the_horns:

Hello and welcome to the forum. It is a great place to get suggestions from some very successful growers. As said, a good quality full spectrum light source is going to be the most import thing you will need. figure out how many square feet the plants take up in you space (3x3, 4x4, 5x5, etc) and look at lights from HLG, AC Infinity, Viperspectra, Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer to name a few. Also some nutrients and a good quality TDS/PH pen will be needed. You will probably want a fan to push the room air out the window as well when the smell gets to much.
Best wishes. And please keep us in the loop as to how your plants are doing.
