Day 10 - About 28 hours later, my first set of fan leaves are developing. I just watered it with ph’d water, now let’s see how she grows tomorrow.
Awesome!
Growth is coming along nicely! I just have an issue I need to handle. My vpd has been averaging between 1.03-1.18 over the past 5 days. Temps 74-79 degrees, humidity levels 40%-64%. I started my grow with a humidifier from Walmart, but the tank was too small for my liking and only had a low/high setting. I upgraded to a tower style humidifier that has multiple humidity levels and a timer, but the sensor SUCKS! It read 18%, over powering itself resulting in fogging up my tent. I watched it slowly climb to 85% on my controller’s sensor before I snatched it out, and threw my original one back in. I’m thinking about grabbing the aci version to connect it to my controller, but I have the 67 right now and the humidifiers connect taking the usi cord. I would have to use this set up until next Tuesday, then I’ll be getting the humidifier and the newer controller as well as the Apera meter. As for this week, how can I use my current set up more efficiently?
I had a similar experience with a regular humidifier and made the switch to the ACI and it’s great! No issues except the tube to run it into the tent isn’t great, so I just put mine in the tent with the directional top on.
As far as more effectively for the week, it’s kind of one of those make do with what you have things.
I wouldn’t bother chasing VPD or you’ll drive yourself nuts. Just keep the temp and humidity in the range and send it. Your plants will tell you if they’re unhappy and what they need. Less is more ![]()
Looking good so far!
Ok cool, i appreciate your input!
The Ac infinity humidifier will run with or without a controller. I have a T3 and a T7 before that I was using a 6gal humidifier that couldn’t keep my rh above 45 by itself. The T3 by itself easily got it over 60 but it went through a gallon or 2 a day some days. Thats why I got the T7 It’s big takes up a lot of room.
Welcome to the forum.
What is your average no added humidity? Are you in a room or garage with the tent? If a fairly sealed interior room I personally would treat it AND the tent as my microclimate. Great air exchange and controlling the room vs the tent. Central air is great for that. Can maintain all levels in tent controlling air exchange from lungroom. My climate sucks for cannabis and trying to manage 2 or 3 microclimates was tough. Controlling a lungroom is easy as pie. Just my thoughts.
Thats how I do it also. The temps and rh are the same in my lung room as in my tent. The humidity outside today 18% my lung room 60%
Sorry for the late reply,
This is what my ThermPro reads. It stays around 35-40% in my lung room . It’s in my man cave downstairs, which has 3 windows. I have a humidifier outside of the tent as well, but it isn’t big enough for the whole room. I haven’t gotten any alerts from my controller ever since I switched back to my original humidifier inside of the tent, so I would assume it was the tower humidifier’s sensor that caused it to overwork itself. I’ve been averaging around 67.8% and around 73.9 degrees in the tent these past few days, even with the current snow conditions. My temps seem to stay the same inside and outside of the tent, if not a 3-5 degree difference. But my humidity levels differ around 30%. Outside of the house is around 77% right now
Ocean Forest isnt nearly as “hot” as the internet thinks it is. What are you going to be feeding with and when? What size pot is it in? Are you going to repot it at some point?
GH Trio, i’ve already started doing light feeds. I’ve also started lst
. She’s in a 3-gallon fabric pot, sitting on the aci self watering base. Since she’s an auto, I decided to just plant in its final pot so no i wont be repotting.
DAY 22
How”d I do?
I couldn’t find the correct stakes so I broke the top of a hanger off to use the hook. Tomorrow, i’ll be moving it up towards the top more, as well as kind of curve her around a bit. I was so excited to lst, I bent her towards the edge instead of away from it lol. I’m using the aci ai controller, which is working perfectly with the matching humidifier. Both my temp and humidity have been steady in the ideal status on the app.
Your doing the thing man. Looks good and yeah just keep moving the stakes up as the branches grow as you said.
Here is some lst i did on my current grow
Now after the lst
Enjoy your grow. I’ll pop in every so often to check your updates.
Your’s look great! Im on a mission to find the stakes you have. I also want to try the bonnie & clyde nutes, how have they been treating you?

Cheap cheap, Walmart, tractor supply
Something like these…
6" or 8" staples if you can find them. The longer the better. You can often get them from the hardware store. The longer ones are usually with the irrigation stuff. I also safety pin twist tie wire to the side of the pots if they get too big for staples and I want to keep training.
I found these, but when I got home she looked like this…
Curling and twisting. I increased my light by 10% yesterday from 40 to 50%, that may be the reason. I just decreased it back to 40%, we’ll see what she looks like tomorrow.
New growth can look a little weird, keep an eye on it but I bet its fine. It could be the camera, but those fan leaves look really dark green with a little clawing. This is nothing to worry about, sometimes certain plants want more or less nitrogen. If Im right you will probably see the tips of the fan leaves dramatically curl down, like the tip of the leaf at the bottom center of the image.
The problem will solve itself overtime as the plant grows and depletes the nitrogen in the soil and its fan leaves, as long as you dont start feeding nitrogen before it “recovers”.
That being said Ive never grown an auto but thats how I would do it with my photo plants.
One more thing, you might find those metal pins get pulled right out of the ground(plants are strong). Maybe consider getting a net. And be mindful of how low you train the plant, if you go too low watering becomes a pain.
Probably just a Little soon to start feeding. As a general rule the roots are usually about the same size as the canopy. You don’t usually need to start feeding in ffof until the roots fill in the pot.
