New to growing and some questions

Hi Y’all
I’m in my first grow, so I’m hoping I’ve done it correctly. I sprouted my seed in January. Everything is looking good so far. Been studying too.
I’ve got mine in a large bucket in my bathroom with cfl’s. Since its in the veg state I’ve given it 24/7 light. I don’t use anything but water. I want it natural. I planted it in worm castings potting mix, no fertilizer.
It is now 4 1/2ft. tall. Today I trimmed some lower leaves, saved one & put it in water to root.
My question is, when do I need to start bending the head limbs to make it wider? Its been growing g up so far.
Also is it best to root cuttings in water, or the bucket where it will grow? I don’t like to disturb the plant if I don’t have too. I also spray the plant with worm castings tea I made, that’s all I’ve been doing.
Many thanks to all who reply.

First off welcome to the forum @koosmom
You should have started training when much younger depending on growth rate week three or four
If your still in veg you can still start training

At 4 1/2 feet tall i doubt its an auto flower. I would recommend some darkness once in a while. Plants need to sleep plus they grow at night I believe.

Good point @bruinsfan33 :+1:
On dark period I meant to mention that
Also cfl aren’t the best light to use for flowering
And bf33 is right on point about them getting double in flower :open_mouth:
