I’m beginning a grow with the aforementioned first step, germinating the seeds. The question I have is what’s the recommended mix of FFOF, FFHF, and perlite. I’ve purchased the vivosun A1000SE grow light, already have the vivosun 2.7’ x 2.7’ x 5’3", I also bought the thermometer/hygrometer w/sensor, grow hub,and control system. I’m not too worried about the ph levels because I use spring water (Deer Park). Another question is soil readings like ph. I use the Tiger Bloom trio and have multiple questions concerning that. I use the old school ph tester that is used in swimming pools. It checks ph and chlorine manually. Any suggestions?? I’ve been reading everything on here and am improving with the advice. I’d like to thank ya’ll explicitly for the professional attitude and excellent experience I’ve gotten from ILGM.

For seedlings, I use straight happy with some added perlite. She stays in the seedling cup for only 2-3 weeks then I transplant and mix 50/50 Happy/Ocean and 20% perlite. I transplant one additional time into OF only with added perlite.
You may not be worried about pH, but it is important. If it’s below 6 or above 7, nutes present cannot be used. Nutes tank your pH and will need some pH up to get back to 6.5. 2 tools I would add are the pH pen and a ppm pen or a combo.

Managing this is key when growing with synthetics. For FFOF and HF, 6.2-6.8, starting lower, finishing higher. For the first few weeks, with these soils, only pH’ed water will be necessary. They have plenty of nutes to get through at least 4wks.
You mean the Fox Farm Liquid Trio? Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom?
Using these, in Fox Farm soil, you are bound at some point to come across a salt buildup in the root zone. In their feeding schedule, Fox Farms incorporates a product called Sledgehammer, to be used 2 or 3 times throughout the grow. I highly recommend using it and performing the flush.
I noticed you didn’t mention a TDS meter, they measure ppm’s (parts per million). These are cheap. At about 4wks, you want to measure your runoff. When you get around 1,000-1,100, mix up a batch of nutes at half strength and see how your plants like it.

Thanks bruh. I’ll buy a ph/ppm all in one tester. I live on a limited income but I’ve yet to receive the vivosun equipment and still waiting for the seeds. I’ll definitely get the tester. I’m buying the A1000SE from vivosun and wonder how many plants I’ll be able to grow in the tent which is 2’7 x 2’7…I believe that only one plant is efficient because I have Bubba Kush, White Widow and Wedding Cake seeds I bought from ILGM. I am happy to have met ya’ll. My brother is a cannabis grower and gave me quite a lot of seeds. Unfortunate of course his job takes all his time. Lucky for me the seeds came from ILGM so I have another question…are the seeds purchased from ILGM still soil and time worthy, because he’s had them a year or so???

Ahhhh. I didn’t realize FF created the trio. Advice taken. Salt build-up is created by the nutes. Didn’t know that one. Thanks for your suggestions I’ll definitely heed all ideas. Pictures will be coming once I get growing.
That is correct. I mean, it’s not table talk, salts are just elemental compounds, but ya. The Sledgehammer flush breaks them down and washes, or flushes, them away.
As @Bonjoyle and @Borderryan22 stated, definitely maintain your pH. Every issue I had on my first couple were directly related to pH.
