New member saying hi

.
Hey all! Call me Clay. This is my first posting.
If you don’t have time to read newbie journals, you’ve been warned

If you’re reading this because I clicked on an old pic for one of your grows, take it as a compliment. That’s my way of telling you that you’ve impressed me. I’m paying attention to what you did & what you used to be successful. Gimmee more of that weed porn!

As of today (in Dec 2023), I’m still at the stage of learning & planning for my first grow since back in the 1970s. Next month (January) is when I begin buying the seeds, grow tent, light, etc… all the good stuff added to my shopping list. If you decide to follow, that’s what’s coming up…

  • The finalized list of stuff to buy
  • Set-up (w/ pics)
  • And eventually, dropping those first seeds. (Tropicana Cookies looks mighty tempting for this first grow)

For more than 50 years I’ve wanted to grow weed that was good. My attempts at growing back in the '70s were a failure – didn’t get to flowering stage. But even back then, I knew my ditchweed needed topping early in the growth stage - and I did.

It’s finally legal to grow weed here in Minnesota… has been since 2023. So, 2024 is finally my time to get it right!

I’m an edibles guy, 6-days-out-of-7. I’m proud of my baking & dosing (personal use). 2024 is the year I’m going to be proud of using weed I’ve grown myself; using it to make edibles that are great both in flavor & dosing.

Thanks for all the inspiration that makes me eager to get underway soon. I’m grateful to ILGM for making it possible to connect here.

Welcome to the forum Clay. Like da pie. A suggestion is concentrate on light as a 5 year investment. Get a good 1 off the bat. 80% startup cost. Can skimp on tent/fans. Unless have the startup capital. The light will grow any plants anywhere. Fans and tents wont.

Welcome and I second buying good lights. You might run your possibilities across the forum members to let them help you. There’s a lot of misinformation on lights and it’s easy to get bamboozled (many of us did).
