New grower, was told these plants are Auto flowers

So this is my first grow and I’m curious what I’m doing wrong to get my plants looking this rough, 2 smaller plants are 4 weeks old, 2 bigger plants are around 6 weeks I believe, but they are in fox farms ocean forest soil, being dosed with grow big, and big bloom once a week until this past week where I dosed 2 times and couple days later they are looking way different, and what can I do to fix this? Thank you to all in advance for any advice and help

Welcome to the community @Stoneyturtle! I’m new to this growing but there are some real smart people on here who can help you. @PurpNGold74 @MeEasy @oldmarine

At four and five weeks they likely weren’t ready for feed yet in ocean forest. Especially 2 times a week. Fox farms nutes should be fed by a feed, water, feed schedule. They are very potent. Really need to know what your runoff numbers are. I’m betting they’re close to 3000 ppm.

FFOF will get you through the first 4 weeks easily, by itself. I started adding ⅓ strength on week 5 and building up from there. You probably won’t need to use full strength anything until the last few weeks of flower.

Thank you @Flitme for the tag, hi @Stoneyturtle welcome to the neighborhood… looks like you’re in good hands on the over feeding em a little, I think I can see some mineral deposits on your leaves to I don’t think it’s your problem but it’s not good for the plant the leaves won’t work as good as clean ones  they don’t look horrible so just slow down your food a little and they’ll be good… good luck :+1:

So is there anything I can do to bring them back around, my one I’m concerned about is looking the roughest of the bunch with curling leaves and discoloration

She looks to be environmentally stressing. The dark coloring is a tad bit of Nitrogen toxicity more then likely.

But the taco’n leaves scream its too hot and she’s not ‘breathing’ properly. Find her a shady spot during those high heat times.

And water only for the next week or so. Let those ppms come on down some before you refeed.

Also the plants are babies anymore. Give that soil a THOROUGH drenching next watering. You dont need a gallon coming out the bottom. But do water to some kind of runoff

@PurpNGold74 I’ve been watering only like 1/4 to 1/2 gallon at a time every 3 or so days when I check the soil and it’s dry haven’t really understood how much I’m supposed to be watering still just been winging it, water from source is coming at 6.5 range I know that cause I keep fish tanks as well, indoor grow set up, running a viparspectra p1000 and an old aquarium light one t5 white and one t5 grow bulb there’s a fan running in the tent I just don’t really have an intake or exhaust fan it’s a budget build being I just had my son a couple weeks ago so had to build my tent with mostly spare stuff laying around

Give’m a good drenching. They’ll love it and within a week the growth will EXPLODE.

I did water then pretty good after these pics were taken till the pans underneath had a decent puddle thinking it might be a bit of too much food, been a confusing process without having many people to pick their brains

Bout when should I start getting them ready for flower by chance?

Good deal. Flowering depends on a few things.

Strain?

Photo or Auto?

When did you plant them?

Where are u located?

Ahh crap. U dont know strain and photo or auto huh? I forgot lol

Was told they are Auto flowers I have no clue what strain is as they were free seeds from a family friend who couldn’t remember, but I’ve been running them 18/6 planted July 18, for the smaller 2 the bigger 2 I believe was around the 1st of July range for planting, located in Virginia

So I put a trellis net up and did a bit of defoliation on the girls and they are responding pretty nicely to the netting

Any tips for what I can do different with how they are set up?

Everything looks good to me. May want to get a ‘shigh chair’ for the smaller plant. Help her get more intense lighting earlier

Was thinking of that too I gotta bring a bucket in for that one but there is tons of growth coming in on the Lil one also, with a little lst from laying the other net on her and had to get topped a little bit due to having a drain pan falling on her due to cat knocking things around but coming back nicely now

@PurpNGold74 would it be too early to switch them to a 12/12 cycle?

Well now there’s I think powdery mildew on the girls, now around 2nd week of 12/12 cycle, and over the past 2 days I’ve noticed alot of white patches coming in, trying to determine what could have been the cause of them getting this, did a major defoliation on them when I noticed it the first time and it disappeared now it’s coming back full force

Any idea what I can fix it with, I read on one of the pages on here that milk and water works but how much should I use and still doesn’t tell me the root cause of the issue, I still don’t have my exhaust fan but I keep the one door of my tent open a bit with the fan running 24/7, waited until a couple days ago to use the fox farms nutrients trio again after last times mishap of too early.

Nope. I grow my plants tinyish on purpose. Flip before 2 ft always and grow decent plants.

That does look a bit like WPM. Does it wipe off easily?

It is caused by humidity being too high and airflow not being enough.

Milk is an old timey remedy. Sorry im not any help on the amount to use. Peroxide is another fixer. @Covertgrower can probably give u the low down there.

Ur not into flower, so u can be pretty open to suggestions. But ull want to get those factors (humidity, airflow) dialed in before buds start developing or it could go downhill FAST

We used milk on grapevines when I worked on a farm a hundred years ago I know people are still using it I believe it’s a cup per gallon and you want to use it as the lights come on (or sun up) the light causes a chemical change in the milk and that’s what gets the wpm.
Peroxide water mix will work but it’s a war not a single battle… apple cider vinegar is another one that is supposed to work
Then of course there’s a hundred over the counter sprays
