Hello, I am a first time grower. I have 3 auto plants, white widow, growing and it seems the flowering is going slowly. It is in soil in 3-5 gallon pots, distilled water, nutes are Recharge, Cannaboost, Cannazyme and Cal-Mag. 300 watt Led Light, 56% RH, 72 degrees, with a ventilation system. These sprouted 47 days ago. Do they look about what they should? I have had the lights on 24 hours a day, thank you in advance!
Sorry, the plant sprouted 49 days ago
Yes they look good. What brand light do you have? And what size tent
Hello, thank you, I am using a 300 watt platinum LED. The tent is 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 feet, too small but I did not know the plants would be this expansive lol, is it on the right timeline I wonder?
Autos vary. I’ve had them start flowering after 3 weeks and some not flower for 2 months. You are lacking in light. It only uses 130w with both switches. You need another and those platinum light is waaaaay over priced
what would you recommend? I will order it now.
Welcome to ilgm …when u want to get someone’s attention use the @ symbol then type their name behind it…like this, @sloftus @HornHead…good luck with your autos
My first Auto was a complete failure. Not enough light and yours look good. I’m jealous as I have a ton of Auto seeds.
@HornHead I added 2 600 watt Phlizon lights and already seeing plant response, thanks much I had thought the lighting was adequate
I think they look great. Remember with autos they do what they want when they want to do it.
Welcome to the crew
Plants look good
First welcome to the community your plants look good I would cut the lights back to18 /6 plants do need a dark cycle. Good luck
Welcome to the forum @sloftus!
As you look around at grow lights, I have a Horticulture Lighting Group LED light that is a 135W Quantum Board 3000k spectrum (all purpose) that works a charm for a 2x2. I tested with a watt meter and the dimmable power driver can pull up to 150 watts from the wall at max. It can also dim down to 65 watts when you have seedlings.
I have grown WW autos (one at a time…lol) in a 2x2 tent with this above mentioned light with great success. Most seed banks tell you times to harvest that are not always realistic as part of their sales lingo. 60 days to harvest (advertised) give growers false hope that auto plants are miracle grows…they are not. I always allow a plant like a WW-A around 16 weeks til harvestable maturity, but this varies with breeding. When we see pistils form at week 4, this gives a false hope the plant will be done much more quickly than it will be.
As @kellydans says, all plants need some down time (dark time) to allow their sugars to convert and build vegetation and a heathy root system. While some folks claim 24 on is fine, I have my doubts, and you may be spending more on kwh than is needed. 18/6 is my rule of thumb, and the plants respond well.
Good luck and keep the pics coming…looks great!
Well said; thank you for mentoring this new grower.
Thank you all, great advice, the 18/6 schedule is thought provoking
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Looks like @sloftus is doing a great job and will have a successful harvest for sure!
Sorry I couldn’t get back to you sooner. Been at work all day. Looks like you were in good hands
