New grower here, wanting feedback

first grow here… just not even sure what im doing lol or if im doing it right or not. have done plenty of research and constantly going back to check my leaves and what the plants are doing. making adjustments when needed. love my girls… but any feed back and critique is more than welcome. i currently have 4 strains going (one not pictured because it ended up male and its in a separate closet in the house). 1 sour d, 1 cream cheese cbd, and 1 amnesia auto. sour d and cream cheese are on day 43. amnesia is on day 29. only have used clonex for germ. and ocean forest for sub. currently not using any nutes or testing pH. trying to stay as organic as possible. i’ve been playing around with the light heights just to see what the plants do and how they react. its a 600w LED w/ both veg and bloom switches. most of the time the lights were on just veg at about 24inches or so. currently i have the light at full power and at 30inches just to see how they’ll do. so far i’ve noticed they got a little bit more green to them than before. temps stay between 78-84, i have a small humidifier in there it keeps it about 50% constantly. other than that… that’s about it. oh and i do plan to move all 3 currently in tent to a 12/12 cycle once both sour d and cream cheese hit 60 days. i do have one question, should i use nutes once they go into flower? i have plenty of compost on standby so i’ll be trying to use that instead of going synthetic, again trying to stay as organic as possible. appreciate any feedback.

Nice bushy healthy plant

What about the blurple

Keep going…

Welcome to the community nice looking plants keep up the good work. You may need to feed during flower stage If plants start showing falling off. At that point I would check my PPM runoff and follow up with something to accommodate Bloom stage. Good luck

i appreciate it, thank you very much. idk if you could see in one of the pics, the very bottom leaf is yellow’d and just nasty looking, but all of its new growth coming in seems to be lush green. is this normal? i also have some very slight yellow tipping going on but nothing terrible. i guess testing pH and PPM would be the only way to determine if its lights or anything else, right? which i haven’t tested pH from the start, but it is filtered drinking water… some of the new growth on both plants, the tips of the leafs seem to be wanting to go left or right. im probably just being over paranoid but i have put a lot of effort into these things lol

The yellowing of the lower growth is a sign that your plant might be hungry, they suck out nutrients from the lower growth to feed the newer upper growth when they get hungry. You mention they are several weeks old with no nutes added so I would start with 1/4 strength or 1/2 strength.

Like kellydans said, measuring the runoff PPM and ph will give you a better idea of what’s going on in your soil, a low runoff PPM means it’s time to feed, idk when you’re planning on switching to 12/12 but if it’s soon I would just start off with bloom nutes so you don’t have to flush out any veg nutes before flower

Good luck mate! Plants look great btw

thank you, that was actually something else i was wondering was when i should probably start to feed since i was only using the ocean forest. i was going to try and start with compost and see how that goes and if not, ill use synthetic if i have too. original plan was to start flower at 60 days in but i also want them as healthy as i can get them before i do that so how ever long that takes lol definitely will look into getting a ppm meter and pH tester now that its getting closer to time.

Ph meter and TDS meter are a must, imo. I also grow in Ocean Forest but I use synthetic nutes (FF Trio) so I’m not sure how organic nutes work. Once your plant starts flowering it will start eating more than it did in veg so it’s a good idea to make sure they’re healthy and ready before that. Cheers

that trio seems like a really good buy… especially since im already using FF products too lol. you have to flush when using synthetic tho, right?

I like it because it’s very easy to use, flushing in the middle of the grow is only really necessary if you’re feeding at full strength constantly which is not recommended even though FF tells you to do it, you can tell it needs a flush if the runoff PPMs are too high. Flushing 2 weeks before harvest is definitely mandatory though

A good pH meter and tds meter is well worth the money. Apera or blue lab would be a good quality pH Meter. To check and adjust your water on water day or feed day You will also be able to measure up more precise what your feeding (ppm) and not just a spoonful of this or a lid full of that.

During veg that height is probably ok but watch for excessive stretching. That is, more than 1" between new nodes. Do you know the power consumption of your LED is? 130W to 260W (Viparspectra depending on model)? 100W (Phlizon)

10-4. i just switched over to full power and this height adjustment within the last few days so will definitely keep an eye on it. appreciate it. its a vivosun 600w. LED is 250, veg is 122, bloom is 126. i know that seems high but according to the manual its supposed to be between 24-36" for veg. i’ve already kind of played around with it earlier on in veg at around 24" or so at full power and the leaves started curling. id switch back to the veg switch and the next day they would look fine again… so they’ve spent most of their life with just the veg switch on and that sat at about 20-24". i just moved over to full spectrum to see how’d they’d react or if they’d do any better so i wanted to start at 36" so i dont mess anything up too bad right as im getting close to flower lol
