New grower growing outside need advice

Hey guys, I bought a dozen seeds and germinated them using jiffy pellets and they sprouted but the leaves are yellow and a little droopy, Ive been watering them 5-7 drops in the am and heating with portable heater on outside of container since base temp in my house at night is 60•. How should I start nurturing them for outside since i plan to plant them in a garden and and solutions for the yellowing? I was told it was possibly due to over water or too much heat. Also not sure what size pots to get to put them in if end goal is to plant them directly in my garden once big enough.

Post some pics Growmie, seedlings do well with temps between 76-85 and the RH around 65%-75%. They also absorb humidity from the air so very little water is needed upfront :love_you_gesture:

I use grow bags, they tend to be easier because they deain well and the roots will air prune when they get to the sides of the bags.

Ive been startin in16oz red solo cups and up potting only once into 9" potts, then outside into garden or grow bag’s.

Start with good potting soil best tip I’ve received. Happy Frog is my goto.

Peete pellets have zero nutrients so they will need soil. Low leaf yellowing is normal but also a sign of being hungry.

Watering is tough starting out. When up potting wet all the soil after transplant and wait till is shows signs of drying out before watering again.

Ok, thats my two cents. I’m learning new things every year. Enjoy the journey

What light are you using? A fluorescent fixture will work during this stage :love_you_gesture:

Hey OG, I dont have any lights. Would uou suggest I left them outside under the shade as an alternative?

They’re fragile at this stage and definitely need some light to grow. 24 hours of light is recommended for the 1st 2 weeks. If you’re near a Lowe’s they have some 24” fluorescent light fixtures if not check Amazon out, until then I would at least put them on a window sill. Do you plan on growing and finishing these outdoors? :love_you_gesture:

Right on, let them get about 3 weeks old and healthy and start introducing a few hours a day in partial sunlight, this intro period is called hardening off. Exposure to soon to the heat and direct sunlight will kill them Growmie :love_you_gesture:

Hey OG, I got the fluorescent light and transplanted them into bigger cubicles. After a night with the light at 30% they became green again and are growing pretty tall. Since they are handling it well i put it at 100% all day and leave them in the shade outside during the day to get them accustomed. Heres how they are looking day 4-5

Do you think I should start accustoming them to some sunlight or keep what ive been doing for a bit till they are bigger? Also some of them seem to be growing tall 4-5 inches which is why i gave them some support due to limping . I red that it can be due to the lights being too high or is that normal?

New to the forum and wanted share some pics of this green crack outdoor. Not sure if I’m on the right track and also congrats to everyone.

Wow that looks really good, your def on the right track!

It looks really big for its pot so if its still in veg state 4-8 weeks i would put it in a bigger pot but if its flowering id just leave it.

Thank you the reply. I got her on 4/23, clone, maybe 6”. I was thinking of transplanting to a 10g fabric pot. Also, want to trim the interior before I do that. Any tips on what a rootbound plant looks like?
