New grower giving updates

I caught something. It looks like knat

I have not used that line before, but what stage are you at right now? Still in veg? If you can find a schedule for that brand nutrients it should tell you exactly what ratios to use. gnats are a pain, I switched to coco because of them, check the top inch or so of your soil and look close to see if you see anything moving in there. Let a little more time go in between watering so that that top of the soil gets pretty dry but don’t dry out the pot completely, that should kill and gnat larvae that is in the soil as they live at the top and have to have moisture to live. You can also get diatomaceous earth and put some on top of your soil and that will kill and prevent anything from getting in there.

Awesome. Yea so I’m still in veg/preflower. Yea I think I’m going to try coco next because I thought I would just have to water this organic soil lol. So I really didn’t buy any nutes and relying on this soil.

Imo coco is easier, but you do have to feed and water more often, I water once a day right now. I’m using jacks 321 its pretty simple and I like it.

Nice after this I’ll definitely need some advice on soil and nutes. It was very confusing and a lot to take in at first and didn’t have this forum and definitely helps once I’ve gotten my hands involved and just did it. I was thinking about going with an auto pot system maybe

@CoyoteCody also you mentioned the gnats don’t like dry soil. I’ve seen people on YouTube and such water from the bottom would that benefit me or is that even a thing

this is the GG auto and it looks a little droopy. And also noticed this.

Over watering can cause that as well. It will make the plant droopy. You can water from the bottom, I have not done it, but basically you put these in a tray and give them a certain amount of water in the tray and let them soak it up.

Yea maybe I can try that. It seems to me the pots get dry in 3 days. I’ve been giving each one 32oz each. The pots feel empty to me right now. I’m not going to water today and see how they are tomorrow

The holes look mechanical(something hit them or a fan moving them) to me! I think some people who use organic and NLS water from bottom to keep from flushing out nutes! I agree with Cody on coco, I switched 2 years or so ago and I really like it. More work but worth it! The leaves on your last pic look very dark(too much N) and overwatered or a root issue.

Hey thank you. So I do have a little fan going above and one below on low settings. Any advice on how to have the fans setup? I can attach a pic of my whole tent and show you. And so I think I’ve been dealing with too much nitrogen for the last couple weeks but haven’t added any nutes from the get go. Should I flush them really good and forget about the nutes in the soil and go get some to add on a schedule? Also if I flush them with a gnat problem will that make it worse?

You know the other thing I didn’t do either and read after. I should have put in an inch or so of perlite or something for drainage at the bottom of the pots and if that could also be a problem also

Do fans oscillate? Placement looks OK as long as they aren’t blowing on them constantly. The more you water in an organic soil, the more you feed, so I would let it dry some. I don’t think you could flush it out. If gnats are bad, get DE or Capt. Jacks Dead Bug Brew, it is Spinosad based and can be used up til harvest! next grow use DE, and sticky pads with a spray here and there and you won’t have them. They are more of a nuisance to you than your plant! If you switch to coco/perlite you will not have a drainage issue.

The fans aren’t oscillating. I have them on 24 hrs is that bad? I have the exhaust fan on too just very low. What is DE?

If fans aren’t oscillating they are blowing on same area of plant constantly, not ideal! I have 3 fans in my room and they are on all the time! Ex. fan on is bringing in fresh air, that is good! DE is Diatomaceous Earth, if you get some be sure it is food grade!

Fans definitely make your plant look like it’s over underwater where its wind worn they will drop and just look blown… also alot of tines we might accidentally get a few drops veery seldonly here and there not knowing and that can happen as well…I know I splash water around alot mistakenly

Sounds good. So what would you recommend for the fan situation. I can buy or fix it however for best scenario

Lol no that definitely could of happened so not ruling it out but do try my best to make sure not too. Well I think I will hold off on watering for a couple days and just monitor it. It’s been 3 days since last water

Just a small oscillating fan that will move air around and not blow in one spot!.They have clip ons at Amazon. but they are cheap made. I would say something around 6-8 inches and sit it in corner on something!

Yeah thats ok with the light 60% your going into flower so. Every 2-3 weeks or so raise it just a lil bite. Till you get to 100% but yoy have to do it lol at a time
