I have a Trainwreck photo that is 7 weeks old and just flipped to 12/12.
Here’s the setup:
Indoor or outdoor? Indoor, size of grow? 4x2 one plant
Origin of seeds? ILGM
Regular, feminized, or autoflower? Fem photo
Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water?tap water ph’d to 5.8-6.0, 95 ppm out of tap.
PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution? 1642 ppm
Grow method? Canna coco
Nutrients or fertilizer system used. Jacks 321, Raw silica, Tribus and Recharge once a week
What typr of lighting are you using? LED- ChilLED Tech X3
What are the temps in your growspce? Day : 75 degrees Fahrenheit Night? About 72 degrees
What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day: 50% / Night 45%
AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier? Portable AC set at 72
Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 6" inline a/c infinity with carbon filter, set at about 75%
Co2: No
Jacks mixture: Part A: 3.6 grams per gallon, epsom salt: 1 gram per gallon
Part B: 2.4 grams per gallon

Water to good amount of runoff. Approx 40%
Runoff numbers: 1765 ppm, due to them being very high I did a flush and got it to 798ppm. Then I feed 1 gallon full strength jacks and it sank to 382 ppm. I’m sitting here chasing numbers and I’m at a loss here. My only guess is that I need to adjust the initial strength but not sure what to lower it to (grams per gallon wise). Any words of wisdom would help. I snapped a few pics to show the leaves. Plant overall looks great. I gave her a trim last week and have nice new growth.
Very odd the full strength jacks comes out at 1642 with your water source Brother. My old source was the same and my final jacks numbers were around 800ish. Have you tried jacks at 4 grams of part A and 2 grams of part B with no epsom?
My only option is regular city tap. I only recently heard about the 4/2 jacks dosage. Funny my autos in flower love the full strength with epsom. So do you need to any anything extra when using the 4/2 dosage?
Only other thing I add is silica Brother. My current tap water has a TDS of 130 and jacks on the 4/2 plus silica comes out around 800 PPMs and has been working great
I use General Hydroponics Maxi series and never push over 900ppm total and have no issues with tap.
I’m not familiar with Jack’s but 1700ppm just seems like a lot to me .
It shouldn’t matter in coco-coir though long as the coco-coir never dries out and you’re getting good runoff.
Target TDS in veg with Jack’s and silica should be around 900 PPM.
I mix in buckets (Homers) starting with 135 PPM water with the same mix ratio. If you’re high as stated, I would simply dilute to the right solution concentration. So, mix 4 gallons then add tap water to get to 900. 1,100 to 1,200 in flower.
I use Autopots with Jack’s and don’t flush the medium and i get nice vibrant green plants all the way to harvest.
Hmmm… my tap water is about 270ppm. I us jacks at 4/2 now but did the traditional 321 all previous runs. Both ways I mix 5 gallon batches of just jacks and my ppm has always been 1140. My runoff is 1140-1160 and always ph’d perfect for coco. I occasionally see Burt tips but that the biggest issue I’ve had since I started with jacks.
I agree with all of these statements, my ppms are about 95 out of the tap, I am on well water. When I used the 3.6/2.4/1.2 ratio I came out at 2.05EC to 2.25EC range which is about 1,000 to 1100ppms. Nowadays I use the 4/2 ratio and my EC is coming in between 1.65 and 1.85EC or 825 to 925ppms. Is it possible your TDS meter has a switch to change which setting you are on and it got switched accidentally?
These things are so strange to me. The last time something like this happened to me I found my scales had different settings and were no longer on grams, it actually took me a couple days to figure it out.
Ya that’s a very good possibility but I always make it a habit to check it and all calibration as well. I’m so anal, I recalibrate my ph pen after every gallon just to make sure. I’m slightly OCD about my setup lol.
I would have said same as others if they didn’t beat me to it. Since that was already addressed I have some other questions.
What size pot are you using?
When you feed, is it always one gallon or how much?
How often are you feeding?
Additionally, with the led lights you’ll probably experience a little better growth rates with canopy temps around 80f or so. Especially since you’re running ac, could probably save some money there too.
Calcium is needed.
Limit major nutrient availability fluctuations by maintaining 20-30% runoff every watering/feeding.
Always measure runoff PPM/pH and keep a log.
Don’t be afraid to feed less than the recommended dose to hold levels stable rather than having to do a heavy flush.
Calibration and tool maintenance is a keystone and is often overlooked.
pH calibration should be done every 1-2 weeks, and most importantly the probe should always be stored in dedicated KcI solution.
The liquid in a pH membrane has a specific amount of salts, which is what calibration points are based on. The internal salts will saturate in dry storage, and seep if stored in plain H20, ultimately de-calibrating the unit and in sever cases rendering the unit unusable.
ProTip: De-saturated units can sometimes be rehydrated if stored in Kcl solution for 48+ hours.

To answer your questions, I’m running 3 gallon fabric pots. I water daily to a good amount of runoff. Sometimes it’s a gallon or it may take 1 and half to get there. I do feed daily but I’m gonna play around and get the ppms down before watering to the plants. I will adjust the a/c as well to around 75, inside the tents run a few degrees hotter.
