Need help with trichome color. Ready or not?

First, let me begin by stating that I’m red green color blind. Makes life very sporting driving late at night! My wife helps me color match everything. However, this is our first grow and we have zero prior experience with trichomes. That said I have an OG kush in week 14 (84 days) and this is the first indication of amber trichs I’ve seen to date. Then again I’ve been using a 10 power loop until just today.

I apologize in advance for the poor quality pictures. I purchased a stand alone digital microscope but no means of transferring the files to my iPad, thanks to Apple.

Below are photos of a 3/8” x 3/8” flower I just cut. I think I see some amber but my guess is that the population is about 1-2% at best.

I’d like to know if I should harvest now or wait a week?

The photos are shots of the microscope screen. Apparently, in one of them, I zoomed in a bit too much. Regardless, please advise if I should cut or wait.

The sample was taken from a small bud about 3” from the top of the cola.

You got image of the whole plant?

I cut the very top 3/8” of the calyx and made sure I did not include a sugar leaf. I’ll post a picture of the plant and cut site.

My digital microscope has a very shallow depth of field. That’s probably the best resolution I get.

Regardless, do the trichomes indicate that the plant is ready for harvest?

Tricomes are what you look at to tell if they are ready… Correct.

I took some more photos using a jewelers loop in front of my iPhone camera lens. Slightly better, center is better, edges are rubbish

I shot the very top of the bud. No sugar leaves in the photos.

Also included a photo of the plant. I’m beginning to see the leaves yellowing.

Based on the leaves and small percentage of amber trichomes, my guess is that I’m a week or less away from harves.

I see mostly cloudy. Plants look fantastic. Looks like it’s going to be some badass weed. I’d give it a good 7 to 10 days & let some Amber build up
