How to tell if my flower is ready without trich.?

Hello folks,

Accidentally my trichomes microscope broke and the next one will be delivered after new year.

Last time I checked my flower was a week ago and I still had lots of clear trich but some amber as well (very few).

This OG KUSH seeds are from ILGM, it supposed to be autoflower but I am starting week 17 now, so I am not sure that the plant is auto.

I just need to know if I should harvest now or wait another week+ for my microscope?

Thank you

If a week ago you had some amber, Its at the top for THC. If it were me, I would chop.

Do you think I can still check the trich. After it’s been chopped?

Before I stumbled across this forum fulla knowledge I just followed broscience and when all the pistols turned orangeish brown and shriveled back into the bud was when we got out the pruning shears. Now that’s when I start looking at trichs with a scope.

Calyx’s look swollen, and pistils look mature. You’d be good to chop.

I’m not an expert yet but it seems it is ready . Even though mine stayed cloudy for a good while before starting to degrade much so ya might be able to go another week before it degrades a whole lot.
Also it maybe just me but I try to keep my plants clear and free of all dead leaf matter . You got quite a bit that I would trim off if you do decide to wait a bit longer . But that’s just me.

Definitely looks to be in the window to chop . Good luck :v:

Fan leaves/sugar dried up :heavy_check_mark:
Pistils turn orange and turning in-word :heavy_check_mark:
Puffy fat colas :heavy_check_mark:

Small bit of fox-tailing, hope that does not effect your final product.

That loupe is a real pain, especially if u wear eyeglasses. Light reflects off ur glasses, the loupe, and the leaves. It’s hard to focus at an angle through one eye wearing glasses.

I find it helpful to use the loupe over my phone camera and get real close. That way, the cam focuses for me and I can use both eyes to see from a distance and at an angle that isn’t laser beaming my eyes.

I got a 3x magnifier from the dollar store and if I’m real curious, like ready to make a pull call, I fight with the loupe to be sure.

My issue is I’ll see a tiny bit of orange and yoink em up before they fatten. I put my light higher up in my 5x5 and some are 36” from ground to tip. Idk how much I can harvest in sections on an auto wo killing it. Looks like top nugs will plump before the bottoms. I’ve only done 2 plants at a time and I’m not looking forward to chaffing so many ladies at one time. Towards end of flower, they look so ugly. I feel like I gotta harvest before my whole plant dies from root to tip

Yeah I think loupes are pretty worthless. Just my opinion . I got this and it works great for only like 40 bucks.

Dude, I know it’s gotta suck after seeing stuff like that for so long but it’s really pretty to people that haven’t . I been here about an hour away from Syracuse. ( Binghamton) . I moved up from Tampa FL about 10 years ago and I love the first snow of winter . It’s just a beautiful sight of glistening sparkles everywhere and covering trees . I just enjoy it. But there has been a few storms that has shit us down and I know where you are it gets allot worse . Can be quite a hassle and even dangerous if not in the right situation.
