Hello everyone im curious when i should do a 2nd top? Its been 5 days since i did the 1st topping i just didnt know how many nodes i should let it grow out. Also after my plants started growing out after the top one of my sets of leaves seems to be deformed. I dont know if thats normal sometime or if i did something wrong. They seem to be growing good.

Generally speaking (as far as I know) you top your plant once and only once
As for it looking odd, the new growth sometimes does start off as a little odd looking but imo yours looks as I would expect a recently topped plant to look

I’ve topped up to 3 times without issues. I’m not sure I;d want to do any more unless it was a large outdoor plant that can take it.

Ok thank you i was thinking about just doing it one more time and being done. But if you think i would be better off just doing it the one time i will just do that. This is my first grow so i dont want to mess anything up. These ladies are 25 days out of soil. I was going to top between the 5th and 6th node for the first top but between the 4th and 5th looked better to me.
My outdoor plants are all topped 2 times.
You failed to mention is this a photo period or an auto flower.
What’s your grow space?

If your growing inside theirs no need to top your auto flowers. Your best to do a low stress training.

Yes since I’m an indoor only person, I was familiar with topping once early stage and only topping again or super cropping when needed for space constraints more so for photos than autos
and really with autos in mind, I’d top once at the most and even that I’d weigh with the risk that I stunt her development overall.

in my experience topping twice gives much smaller buds, but lots more.
4th new node is where i have always topped.
1 topping only for me now, i like the big ole buds myself.

Okay. I overlooked that these are autos and stand corrected. I would top only once and reluctantly at that.
I grow photos and usually top 3x before flipping to flower.

I’ve never grown an autoflowers. I would like to and have lights fans dehumidifier and an AC if needed.
Would the plant smell up the house if I do not have a carbon filter and or scrubber?
More than likely as in almost definitely. Mine stunk up the whole house
