Need help, looking for seeds i can actually grow

Imma newbie. I have one outdoor grow season and this fall indoor attempt. Indoors has been a HUGE failure. I’ve lost over 40 seedlings, mostly autos but my photos are also tanking…, smh… cant get past 3 weeks, plants just dont work for me. I’ve changed the whole setup multiple times to pin point what it could be. The only thing i haven’t added is humidity controls.

Can anyone suggest a strain or genetics that will actually grow like a weed?

Can you give us some info on what you are using to grow? What is your temps and humidity?

Could be a lot of different things but 40 seedlings

Are you drowning them? What is the temps? Humidity? Soil? Etc

Over watering biggest and most consistant mistake in seedling losses ive seen. Give us a list of your equip, brand and model. This group can help sort it out for you.

@Assman welcome to the forum. Your location shows Norcal. Heart of bud country?

A seedling pops, it has the means to provide its own nutes for a couple of weeks throught its set of round leaves.

A seedling needs less than a shot glass of correct pHed water.

You never water close to a seedling stem, inch and half away circling away from seedling if watering.

Away from seedling promotes roots to seek moisture and grow outwards.

40 seems like alot, but you could of had 20 each time and a couple of set backs.

Doesnt matter, obviously your super smart and found this place. Even smarter seeking help. :smirk: again, welcome aboard.

  • Indoor or outdoor? - indoor, 2x4 tent
  • Otigin of seeds? Seedsupreme and Blimburn seed companies
  • Regular, feminized, or autoflower? Mostly auto, till i ran out (25’ish) then photos
  • Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water? always PHd water between 5.8 and 6.2
  • PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution? Same
  • Grow method? Soil, Soil-less, Coco, Hydro, Aquaponics. Please explain… soil mixture with perlite, but it evolved as failures continued
  • Nutrients or fertilizer system used. Started with organic grow, gia green, now im just in straight seedings starting mixture
  • What typr of lighting are you using? LED, HID (MH, CMH, HPS), or Fluorescents? Full spectrum LED
  • What are the temps in your growspce? Day / Night? 70-76
  • What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day / Night? Wasn’t monitoring humidity,
  • AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier? Not running
  • Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 4", 6"? 120cm fan set up exhaust
  • Co2 Yes / No? No co2
  • How long have you been growing? 1st indoor season, only one outdoor season, but that was good, really good results
  • What budget have you set in order to grow successfully? Ive waaaaayyy over spent for what im producing, which is failure, over $700 in just seeds alone
  • If you grow hydro, then please explain your hydro method. DWC, R-DWC, Ebb and Flow, Or; Other? Other? No hydro

Had allot of poor germination, followed by geed germination and not popping soil, then we’d get some to true leaves before death… or 3rd node before another run would die off. Ive tried to make consistent improvements based on the failures. Im loosing 2-4 a run… its been super confusing and frustrating

Yeah… ive been struggling, ready to call it quites tbh. Soaking my last 4 strains from the 2 seed companies mentioned, and never going back.

Drowning a few im sure of it… vivosun 2x4 with viperspectur P2000 LED full spectrum, lighting has proven to be a challenge at the time i wasn’t exhausting the the tent, just a circulation fan inside

I wouldn’t give up but it is your choice. The members here can help but you need to give as much detail as you can like

Water source.

Type of starter mix.

Container.

Frequency of watering.

Lights turned to lowest setting?

That are many factors man we can’t just make up a solution and it be the correct answer. Anyways the choice is ultimately yours. Good luck.

If you can’t get to week three and struggle to germinate you might consider you have completely the wrong idea on most things.

Wind is bad air movement good. If you blow wind at them they probably part reason they die.

But seems like you need to post your whole setup in pics and really find all the points your screwing up

I’m not going to give up, just wanna be done with the seeds on hand and use new genetics.

At first few rounds i supplemented outdoor grow with organics, hit and miss… still growing original 3 auto strains that were runted since late December.

Changed soil to FF ocean forest blend and that was too hot, so lost a few runs there. Then went coco/FF perlite blend… don’t think i buffered the coco enough and lost a few more. Then tried rapid starter cubes, which was working for germination problem but plant i think were transplanted too soon and they shocked. Now I’m in jiffy starting soil mix with perlite 70/30.

Lighting was/is still kick my ass a little. The ppfd for seedlings i was keeping at 200’ish. Once i get to about 3d node , i was turning light up and plants color would fade, so id hit with lite synthetic NPK to chase the color changes… and heres were i either over watered or burnt babies (several times) funny, not funny.

RN I’m super babying the 2 new domed photo seedlings, no over water, not too much light, wind… maintaining temps and humidity with heat mat and controler.

Indoor was soooo much different from my outdoor grow and to be fair… i did that from clones, not seed. So i admit my mistakes and made a ton of them. I just grossly under rated how unforgiving autoflowers would be and the level of attention they would require.

Complete overkill why your failing and wind isn’t required only that air moves big difference.

I put 12 hour soaked seeds into soaked biobizz allmix (hot soil) and wait five days. Then I put under lights as close as they will go generally 300ppfd a bit over.

My extractor is on low keeps air moving but makes no wind.

No other equipment is required except putting this in a room that doesn’t get too cold i.e. under 20c.

I don’t feed or add anything just sit back watch two weeks good growth.

I think your missing the part where it’s actually ridiculously simple and getting too into all the other stuff.

Good luck, pics of everything might help others comment.

Fair enough…

Try looking at Coast of Maine stonington blend and their dry amendments. Thats what i use. 5 gal pots will go 30 to 45 days worth of ferts. You can plant seed directly or transplant seedlings.

Sorry I’m late to this but the soil looks really wet. Over watering can be a challenge for a lot of us. I’ve been growing for almost 20 years, and sometimes find myself doing it. To me that sounds like a lot of the problems you are having. Like said before a seedling that small needs very small amounts of water outside the stem, 1 to 2 inches. Good luck to you. :v:
