I’m about 5 1/2 weeks into flower and had to move the lady into the garage for the last couple days due to a massive heatwave, (105°H/80°L). The temps here are usually at like 86°/64° around this time of year which is what she was use to, and aren’t expected back until next week. I’m leaning towards a slightly early harvest to chop her before the heat does any significant damage. Or am I being a little paranoid and should wait it out to fully finish the flower? I’m mostly worried about terp evap and whatever else 105+ temps can do to your plant during flower lol. Any advice? (Sorry for poor qualitly pics).
Trichomes probably not developed enough to harvest that early. Usually results in very racy and paranoia inducing buzz, if any. I would try to find a way to let her ride it out.
If there wasn’t any major reaction to the heat I probably would have just left it outside.
Yeah I would try to ride it out, early bud with clear trichs does not make for a satisfying high. Being in Texas, my outdoor grows have to endure temps close to 120F at times and they usually have no problem with it.
Lots of water, lots of air movement and keep out of direct sunlight: you should be fine.
People grow tomatoes outside here in AZ all year long. Look for info on growing tomato’s in the desert and apply.
That’s what I was thinking. I pulled her in after all the pistils were starting to fry and got worried about terp evaporation.
Definitely will be purchasing, thanks for the lead
