Need advice on white widow harvest

Hello
I would like some info on white widow stain
This is my first grow and I just want to make sure I don’t chop to early or to late and would love some everyone’s input on this strain
Just curious if the plant usually gets cut at end of 8th week?or maybe you guys have had to maybe wait until week9 to cut?
Any information or recommendations on this white wido strain would be much appreciated
I’m in soil

I’ve had ww take 15 weeks to ripen but that was under some old blurple lights. Usually you have to add two weeks to the recommended time. The breeders and seed banks are trying to sell seeds and by making it sound good they fudge their numbers a little. Plus you have to remember they grow in $10,000 growrooms with perfect conditions so they might actually be close to their numbers. I don’t know which it is.

Timing is big. Do you have a scope? Very helpful! Check your trics, if they are clear, patients is in order. Give @nicky a tag. He seems to be the auto guru! He’s very helpful!

I do have a scope
It’s just that I thinks it’s going to be a little difficult telling the clear tricomes from the milky lol
So I’m wondering if I should cut when I start swing some amber
But would love everyone opinion before I make a decision

The most reliable is checking trichomes with a jewelers loupe or digital microscope I usually start checking after the pistols turn color and start tucking into the flower you have different pheno types even with the same strain you can never go by breeders info because it’s an average I’ve. Gone. A month past the recommendation before and I wait till cloudy with just a little amber not looking for couch lock

Thank you
@sparky66

The best is to take a couple pictures with the digital microscope from different buds, ensure your not looking at sugar leafs and your focusing on the bud.

Post them here and we can help train your eye and you will get different opinions.
Also. Post a picture of the fill plant /buds, in dark with flash on.

@Nicky
Is there a scope you can recommend that is compatible with iPhone and iPad that’s descent?
Thank you

Am almost in the same Dilemma only with me is I’m not sure if mine’s in week five or six still trying to figure that out pretty sure 5 going to 6 and they look like the have a ways to go . One thing I’ve learned is to monitor them make sure your vigilance and definitely always check them every morning with the little scoop when light go on it works for me once i see that half milky and amber color skim i go and make the preparations for the chop .

Walmart and amazon have then. 1600x usb microscooes. Work great.

White widow under off brand qb boasrds about 6
7 weeks flower maybe 8 but closer to 7 weeks. Coming down this weekend

That’s I little amber in there already in that picture correct?
Plants look nice

I’m in aware of what works specifically on iPad or iPhone as I’m an android user but I belive someone on here bought the newer versions that are Bluetooth and work on either or

@Nicky
Ok I just ordered a Bluetooth scope
I should have her in by tomorrow and will take some pics post and see what you guys think and help guide me to harvesting at correct time

Just google usb microscopes for iPhones and it should pop up with ones for iPhones or ones that have iPhone connector ends.

Pro tip to getting okay photos.
Sit down, rest your elbow on something like your knee or better something like a little side table.
Push the microscope right into the bud, not the sugar leafs the bud, focus the center lense on the bud. Slowly zoom in, may have to wiggle or rotate for a bit of a better angle but you need to rest your hand and be pushed right up to the bud.
Some people rig up tripods but I don’t have one.

Looking forward to some shots, include a picture of the plant with grow lights off, flash on as well as a bud picture done the same way. Then share tricomb pictures. It gives us a good overall sense

Okay sounds good
I should have scope in this evening
I will post as soon as I can
Thank you

@Nicky
I will take some with the light off in a bit
I had to go do some running around but
I took these with the light on just to test her out

Nice.
Yeah you got lots of time.
It takes time to get good with the microscope. Hard to hold it steady.

@Nicky
How long do you think I have until I should start seeing some amber?
I am week 8 day 3 of flower
Thank you

It’s hard to say so many variables… Some strains take longer along with a bunch of other stuff when yih don’t see any more white pistils
