Need A Tad Bit Of Advice

@Low I see some cats waiting for you to chime in, so tag your it…you are the official leader of the pack.
I have some photo periodic seeds that are 13% CBD Purple Punch.
I want to cross it with White Rhino auto, and yes I know the F1 would be a photo.
I have m/f regs.
Can you tell me how to cross them.
I know to grow a male. Separately.
What process can u recommend my dedicated Leader of The Pack.
I don’t want the whole plant fertilized.
If you have a second or two, phone home.

Def not the pack leader but I really appreciate the compliment! There are no alphas here.

Ideally you want to be picky.
Identify your males and grow them separately from the female(s) Choose a male that shows the traits you want to pass on. Males vary as much as females. For selective pollination, pick a single branch on the female, bag it, and apply pollen from that male. Leave the bag on for 24–48 hours, then remove it. Only that branch will produce seeds; the rest of the plant remains seedless.

Now if you are just trying to get seed, chuck the pollen.
For open pollination, grow the male along side the female. Several branches will get fertilized, but you won’t have control over which male pollinated which female.

The resulting F1 seeds will mostly be photoperiod because the Purple Punch parent is photoperiod. Individual seedlings may lean toward Purple Punch’s CBD profile or White Rhino’s structure and potency. You will need to grow them out to know.

Ideally you’d want to find keepers before breeding because there is so much you can miss choosing a single female.

If this hasn’t answered your question, please be more direct and specific.

Naw, that about did it. That re-enforced what I was reading plus answering some ?s I didn’t even ask!
I appreciate this.
So grow out like a whole handful of those seeds, and phenohunt the best one to???
Breed back against a parent strain, or another strain?

Is it accurate that the F1 ( the best of the bunch I guess) is better left F1 and avoid F2s and further generations?
I’m just trying to breed a strain specific for my pain, but gets me high too.
I have more CBD bud than a damn dispo, and I love it. It helps my physical condition, but I want the head high too

Yes, you grow out a good number of the seeds you have and see how they turn out. Look at how each plant grows, how it smells, how it flowers, and how it makes you feel. That is called phenohunting, but even if you do it casually, just by trying a few plants you can see which one gives the balance you want between CBD for pain relief and THC for a head high. Keep in mind that we don’t know if your starting Purple Punch seeds are true F1s, so the plants you grow may already show some variation. Once you find the plant that works best for you, you can either leave it as it is or try breeding it. Leaving it as an F1 or first-generation cross is often the easiest because these plants tend to be strong and fairly consistent. Making F2s by crossing these plants together introduces more variation, and you might lose the traits you liked. Breeding back to a parent strain or crossing with another strain is possible, but it takes more time and experimentation. For your goal of a personal strain for pain relief with a head high, growing a handful of seeds and picking the best one is usually the simplest way to get the effect you want.

But if you are just growing for looks you can approach it that way- it’s just not ideal.

All bs aside , you explain this well. You should be a consultant. There’s actually a market for it. Lol
You explain cultivation like I explain re-entry to my clients who are in half way houses.
This is extremely helpful.
Thanks bro

A good way to test multiple males quickly is to use female clones.. Take one clone from your female per each male you want to use. Then do dedicated pollen runs for each male with the fem clones. Like 5-6 count female clones with one from each different lady. All together w one male.

I use aquariums for pollination chambers. Easy to clean and isolate. The 8” clone ripen way faster than a branch of a big old mama. You will get surprising a lot of seeds from under 12” clones. Low time commitment and easy to organize if you keep the clones in the tanks.

I appreciate you :folded_hands:!
And I love clones.
I had 18 clones in 2022 before the Good Ol Boy police and my sister sent the fifty’s in on my grow spot.
It was a huge loss. About 4 grand in equipment.
Clones i drove to OklaTex for.
Lol.
P.s. if I’m high, I’ll reply to you and then go ham a bit cuz I’m bored at home.

I took 2-3 years saving stand outs for moms. Cloning and growing. Then decided to reverse a mom using STS and pollinate other keepers. Results in feminized seed. Finding keepers takes a long time. Keeping moms for extended periods takes time and work.

Had 20+ moms at one point. Scrapped them all after seed run. Not unrealistic for us to drop hundreds of seeds at once when playing with regs.

We have toned down quite a bit now.

This is the kid of growing I’m interested in.
I just have to buy my materials over time to get a perfect environment.
I get a SSDI and thats all.
I grow because I cannot afford weed nowadays.
I have alot of shit already, I need to just start building it.
My box is only 3x3 big enough for 3 smaller autos.
There no top, so photos are outta the question til I have my grow room ready to at least start a few.

Exactly what I did. Buy sales and diy as much as possible. Took me quite some time to get my current set up where it is.

I think you got most every one, I would add @Dforce and @StonedCold13 off hand. Sorry if I missed anyone. I’m not a ton of help in regular breeding, I do fems in all my breeding so far, may branch out but I like fems so I don’t have empty space from pulling out males. I reverse a chosen female plant and force her to make pollen, feminized pollen. All seeds will be females . @SpaceyX using an auto and crossing with a photo can result in a fast flowering version or it can give you 20 percent autos on the first cross. More on back crosses. I don’t cross autos and photos because of the inconsistency of the results. I love learning new ways, but stick to my proven methods when breeding.:+1::oncoming_fist:

@Growdoc , well, that being said, maybe I’ll wait until I have the grow space fully equipped for photos, and I’ve got 3 different Photo period cultivars.

  1. OG Kush by RQS
  2. BlamYa OG by BlamSeedBoyz Genetix
  3. Banana Nut Blue Bell By BlamSeedBoyz Genetix

The good thing is, Purple Punch CBD is a Larry OG child.
Maybe the OG Kush crossed with the Purple Punch CBD would be a better mix?

I want consistency and I want a good strain for myself.

You guys are all great man!!! Thanks yo alla y’all for y’all’s help man

I really feel dumb.

I was told to avoid ILGM but I do feel like thats not reasonable

My Blackberry OG cross used RQS OG kush and BlackBerry Moonrocks, it made a nice strain that is almost black purple and very frosty with good flavor and smells. I’d advise you to learn which terpenes treat specific ailments and which ones complement each other. I spent weeks comparing strains and terps to come up with the combos I did, except the SnowBlind, those parents were chosen for their frost mostly, combined they should be great, but I haven’t gotten a chance to grow them out yet. I had one order that didn’t germ right, they replaced them with another choice immediately, nothing but good things to say about their service.

@Growdoc
I’m glad you did a cross with the OG KUSH and it works well.
That strain does wonders for my Cervical Spinal Myelopathy and Neuropathy. I have prostate cancer in stage 2 as well. With about a hundred titanium rods plates bold and nails holding my bones in tact.
I broke 39 bones in March.
OG Kush was amazing for the tingling in my hands and feet
It gave me an appetite where the chemo takes it away and makes me sick
I’m smoking the CBD Purple Punch daily, and it is so good for pain.
Maybe that cross was meant to be all along.
PunchLine Kush Or sumthin!

Sorry to hear, look into and research nicotine patch application and also a combo of ivermectin, fenbenzadole, and menbenzadole. Also cloves, pumpkin seed, and black walnut hull extract. Nic patch has shown to help with some cancers, dementia, and Parkinson’s. Others are for a complete parasite detox, from egg to adult. Some Docs believe cancer to be a parasitic condition, I’ll let you do some reading .:oncoming_fist::flexed_biceps::folded_hands:
