Ok I may have do a dumb thing I put up my 4x4x6ft grow tent and got the lights up and the two gals in and heater in and the inline fan with the duct work and the big carbon filter… I can’t seem to find correct pictures on how to put it in HELP Please! Right now I have the fan in the tent with the carbon canister outside the tent. Is this right?

Most I’ve seen use wire hangers from the ceiling of the tent to support fan and filter. FYI the filter is not needed until plants are close to flower and high humidity will render the carbon useless so be sparing with it’s use.

I am having heat problems and was using it to control airflow so I’ll stop it and put in a tower fan. Thanks

I think it depends on your plans. I have my fans outside my tent pushing air in and out with ducts. I gained alot of space and of course electronics bring heat and I have plenty with just a light. I have seen people have everything in, out or some in some out so it should depend on your specific needs. You can use inline fan without the carbon filter. I use a filter material on my fan pushing air in just to keep dust and stuff out.

Or just disconnect the filter and use exhaust fan only.:v:

I run two intake fans and an AC infinity cloudline T6 exhaust fan… Really helps temps compared to one intake fan. Just had to up the exhaust on the cloudline.

You want the exhaust running, he just meant that you probably don’t need filter attached right now.

Also, do you have any of the passive vents or duct ports open at bottom? That’s where fresh air should come in and then be exhausted out top. You will probably want to build light trap for intake when you start flowering too.

Right now the inline fan is off and I have a heater which is adjusted 74-77 and a fan to have air flow and every one seems good. I do have the passive ports open on one side I have a LED lights that came with the grow tent kit from VIVOSUN as did the inline fan and some other stuff. So how should the inline fan be placed w/ the carbon filter inside or outside of tent. No Pictures came with and I have seen both ways and 1st grow here Right now I have the fan inside with the duct work going out to the carbon filter.

Are you exhausting back into the tent?

This is how i started a single fan as exhaust with the carbon filter.

I started having serious heat issues. So I moved my light drivers out and have a fan that cools them 24hrs. Removed the carbon filter. Added a fan to push air in from the ac controlled room. Got more duct to extend the exhaust out of the room. This made huge difference and solved my heat issues.

You do not need the carbon filter attached to your fan until the smell starts. Keep your fan running without it.

Here is what it looks like now inside.

Old air out and new air in. Simply as that. There’s an arrow on you in-line fan showing the flow of air.
You do not need the filter until your flowers start getting stinky. That’s when you’ll need the carbon filter in the tent with the filter being 1st on the exhaust side…

The fan is inside exhausting out thru the ductwork out thru the filter into the basement air.

It’s an intake pushing Air in…

That’s the way I have it flowing with the arrow> Fan in tent blowing /flowing> out of tent and I don’t have the clearance about to put anything on top. So I do with what I can and added a bigger fan for air flow and now the temps are stable .
