Do you treat them in any way or just prune away the sick? Just found a handful on the other girl too, several of which I’m certain weren’t there last night when I was defoliating.
Peroxide mix for spray down during and after removed, I have been using Doctor Zymes Eliminator for prevenative but think I will change how I do it.
Spray at nite, but going to am, I am think hosing them at night just keeps them wetter and by am with all the dew it washes most away, if reversed I think the benefit will be greater just a thought as some will dry on plant better.
Oh it shows quick once it is there.
What dilution of peroxide for the spray? The Zymes is safe in flower? I already screwed up and sprayed some Neem on which I’m hoping will off gas in the 6 weeks so was trying to avoid any sprays but I’ll be doing a peroxide wash at the end anyways.
DZ flower safe
3:1 water to peroxide, I do not worry on that to much I use 12% peroxide in spritz bottle and give spots of rot hell before and after cut them out.
I didn’t do this while cutting this time and will definitely need to next time. Thanks for the tip! Hopefully minimal spread and if I can just get 2 weeks they’d be ready ready.
Is what I am hoping for
just 2 more weeks…
@MedLifeCrisis @Bentstick There is a product called Agrowlyte that works very well for rot. I actually make Hypochlorous acid which is basically the same thing. I have sprayed it on the infected buds and left it on the plant without any more issue’s. Now I just soak the bud and then chop, just because. I have found 2 buds so far with rot this year, so I made some Hypochlorous acid to spray this morning. ![]()

Check out their website if interested. ![]()
Thank you for the info, will have that for next yr, going to try doing the Dr Zymes in the am instead of nite, I though why add more wet when it can not dry…
Nice! I’ll definitely check this out. So you use it like a spot treatment to control and then don’t even remove the material? I’m definitely worried that I might have spread it since I didn’t sanitize with peroxide on the last clip plus in the greenhouses I’m super worried about the back corners I can’t really reach. About to go do the morning rounds and check them over.
Cool air moving in 42f this am.
I use as a spot treatment, as I usually don’t have many issues, (Knock on wood) I usually spray and cut, but have experimented with leaving them on. It didn’t get any worse when I left it on. You can spray the whole plant with no worries. I’m also in a greenhouse and run dehumidifiers the last 4 or so weeks of flower. It has helped a lot. Was a little late this year.
Man I’d love to have power down there. Still just cheap little tent style ones for rain and nosy neighbors. I have grand plans though and fully functional greenhouse is high on that list. Did you dig down? Can you grow year round in yours?
No just for the warm month’s
No, in pots
Super torn this morning. Google doom scrolling is telling me there’s no way to make the outdoor girls consumable once any rot is found on the plant. Basically even if inspected, washed, and decarbed some mold and fungal components can still get you pretty sick. With how little of the plant that was infected so far though seems crazy to think it’s unconsumable. Seems like y’all have experienced this some in the past due to the regional weather patterns. Ever get sick from a treated plant?
That would be more for immunocompromised people. While inhalation of its spores is common, this rarely causes disease in a host with normal immunological defense mechanisms. We’ve all smoked the brick weed and lived decades, and that chit was all kinds of contaminated and never washed. I’m sure my lungs are scared up from the long term effects.
Yeah honestly when I was reading the potential symptoms I had a few flashbacks. I remember realizing it was the herb and not the season a few times. That was a different life though and feeling too old for what I used to do to my body. Also had asthma as a kid and the fungal infection sounded pretty sketchy from that perspective. Even though I’ve probably got a whole farm down there already.
Thinking I’ll just process completely to edibles. Save me some time on the trim and they’re just so healthy otherwise can’t bring myself to chop the whole thing over a few small branches. Also worst case I get food poisoning basically before any major concerns and then say well don’t eat the rest of those.
Never sick from a self treated plant, and as far as whole plant being junk I disagree, last 3 grows have had rot/mold due delagence when trimming, drying and curing and storage goes along way.
Yeah it had me in a real weird Google loop of saying never ever use any part and then slightly different search, here’s how to quarantine and harvest. I think it might have gotten skewed by post processed moldy cannabis articles.
I can get behind health concerns. Make sure to winterize and filter through 2 micron filter to remove any spores.
I need to get some bubble bags and to learn how to do it right anyways, I want those live rosin full spectrum effects. I’ve just been doing whole herb infusions so far.
