I intend to attempt to make a variation on this recipe using RSO to increase the potency per gummy. Just need to make the RSO first, busy lately.
I’m going to attempt to work the RSO into the MCT oil, my guess is there is enough fat in the oil for the RSO to incorporate evenly. The real question is how bad it might or might not taste. I typically only use RSO for things like fudge where it’s easier to hide the taste. Regardless if it works those gummies will be day enders.
Cool ! Ill be watching… this last batch of coconut oil i made didnt turn out, mistake was using my little coffee grinder , set on corse ) i think it went thru the cheese cloth, sooooo, today im re melting, gonna strain again in hopefully a tighter cheese cloth, or maybe even the coffee filter too.
Ill have to do some research on what & how RSO is lol. I love my oil and its taste is fabulous , just need it stronger lol… i guess around here people are getting 25mg pieces. Mine are 5 to 11 at most
Thank you, i will read that. Since im just starting out, and have already spent tons & tons of money lol. Ill have to stick with the oil until i can catch up… Hopefully we can get the potency higher still using this way
Finished watching , this looks very similar to what @Caligurl describes how to do it, except, i dont think she uses a crock pot. My very 1st group of plants only made 2 ounces each lol, hate to waste it all in oil i think i have 1 more bag of little buds & trim i could use, & i have a little kief. The 200 proof came today, it was delivered to a neighbor, thank goodness for honest people, he dropped it off.
Tip --= on the internet says soak your cheese cloth in alcohol, then it wont soak up your oil, gonna try it with this stuff right now ( if i have some cheap alcohol in the cupboard )
I’ve never met a kitchen appliance that I didn’t want to adopt and then forget I have lol. If I had to rebuy I probably would have went with this rather than the levo if for no other reason that is a less complex tool and supports tinctures.
The longer the material steeps in alcohol the more chlorophyll it will extract, which is what’s giving you that dark color. To avoid leaving the material in the alcohol for too long, freeze the alcohol and material for a few hours before combining it. The triches will come off easier and you won’t get so much of that dark color.
