My girl is at the end and is sick

Ok so I’ve been struggling with my plant now for a bit and she’s just getting worse. This girl has been such a pain in the booty since the beginning.
Her buds look great. I’ve visited two local grow stores and we have tried everything but it just keeps getting worse. Flushing, ladybugs (in case there were bugs but never saw signs of them anywhere), extra magnesium in the form of Mag-Amped, FF Boomerang comeback formula, Microbe Brew, Sledgehammer, Bembe, Fishsh!t, buds and blooms and big bloom… (all following the FF nutes schedule so not over doing the nutes and all gradually to observe results.) it’s been a bit over a month and it started with little rust spots (they didn’t rub off so it wasn’t mold or mildew). Then the leaves started to yellow. And now it’s just getting worse. All waterings and feedings were pH’d to 6.5. All her leaves were taken off because they were getting worse. Now the Bud leaves are getting worse.
I’m at my wits end and have no idea what else to do. But the buds themselves looks good.
Help! Today is week 9 of flower.
4x4 tent
Growers choice roi-e680 light 25” from top. FF Ocean Forest soil. 5 gallon pot. Infinity 6” exhaust, RH 50% controlled, day temp 79, night temp 69.

Thank you!

Welcome to ilgm…
What are your ppm and ph of your runoff…
It looks like your ph is out of wack and you might be possibly over feeding to compensate for the lockout that’s happening… :+1::wink:

I’ll measure my runoff ppm and pH again when I water next but we thought it might be lockout as well, so we did two rounds of Fox Farms Sledgehammer. It’s only gotten worse since then. I’m using RO water and always pH it with a calibrated Apera pen to a pH of 6.5.

Once you get those numbers it will be alot easier for you to decide which way to go with her… :+1::wink::green_heart:

On it! Ty! I was thinking possible a potassium or phosphorus deficiency and wasn’t sure if I should do another sledgehammer, but not just saturate the roots like it says but to do a flush with it. Really make sure. What do you think? And if I do that, how can I get correct readings for PPM if I’m flushing it? Thank you!

You want to run 5x the size of the pot of tap water that’s ph’d to 6.5 and catch the last bit of water coming out to get your numbers from…
I would just use tap water , unless you have that much ro on hand…
:v::sunglasses:

I mean, I could GET that much, that would be 25 gallons… I’d be filling gallons for a while lol. But that’s ok. Do you think it’s worth it to try that?

I believe I ment to say 3x the size of the pot…
Its been a minute since I’ve played in the dirt…:man_facepalming::man_shrugging::grin:

I’m going to add this just in case:

Strain- Nirvana Wonder Woman; Type - Hybrid
Fox Farm Ocean Forest in 5 Gallon fabric pots elevated with risers
System type? LED
PH of runoff or solution? 6.5 in, will be checking what the runoff is soon
What is strength of nutrient mix? Normal strength
Indoor
Light system, size? Growers choice ROI-e680
Temps; Day 79-80 Night 69
Humidity-Day 50 Night 50
Ventilation system- Cloudline T6 Exhaust Cloudline T4 Intake
Humidifier- yes
Co2 - No

I don’t think there is anything you can do at this point to correct the deficiencies in the leaves as you’ve discovered. Take this as a learning experience for the next grow.

I’ve been growing with Fox Farms nutrients and discovered that the Fox Farms nutrients are deficient in calcium and magnesium. You need to start using cal-mag shortly after they start flowering and you need to be aggressive with it using every watering and feeding. If you wait for the deficiency to show up before treating it, it is too late.

I’m using 5 gal and it’s about 1 gal to saturate to I do 1.25 gal per pot and get decent runoff to check.

Did you feed immediately after using Sledgehammer. Sledgehammer will help clean out salt build up and reset ph levels, but it also flushes nutrients out of soil.

When using FF Soil you need to check ppm’s and ph consistently, especially when they start flower. Above quote is 100% on the money and remember to feed immediately after using Sledgehammer. :+1:BTW Welcome to ILGM forum.

Check with FF with sledgehammer. They recomend flushing with 2x normal water volume with sledgehammer.then last gal include feed.

When flushing with a straight water i usually recommended preparing 3-5x pot size for amount of water. If number’s are off enough, it could absolutely take 20+ gallons in a large pot to strip the soil.

Using a flushing agent can help lower amount of water needed too.

I’m going to throw in my two cents. I had growing 2 Blueberry autos in my current grow that started with the Browning leaves a few weeks into flower. I’m using masterblend which is a three-part fertilizer similar to Jack’s. With the calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate as part 2 and 3. I started adding Cal Mag, checking runoff, checking pH, and nothing would stop it. Blue dream and Skittles were not affected at first, but my Skittles started to show deficiencies a little bit later. Nothing I could not keep up with. When my photo plants started to show deficiencies I started to back off on the lights and that cured it 100% 480 watts of LED was sucking the life out of my blueberry plants and they look just like yours and a lot worse at the end of the grow.
Still check your PPM out, pH and boost with little extra calmag, but if all else fails and you can’t find anything else wrong try backing off your lights a little bit until you find a sweet spot. This is the only thing that stopped my leaves from showing any kind of deficiencies or burning.

I have heard this and have used cal mag in every feeding since the beginning. She looked so much better a month and a half ago.

I’m getting close to the end. Should I trim all those discovered leaves off before I give her the chop for drying?

I’m going to try moving the light up a bit. I’m currently 23” away and it’s at 80%.

Have you checked the calibration of your PH meter? :v::+1:t2::sunglasses:

You check run off, or are you only checking what goes in there?
If the nut run off is high, you gotta put it in lower at 5… if it doesn’t adjust itself(which it looks like she’s just about ready to come down) if so, it should be flushed, and the burn doesn’t seem to be affecting the sugar leaves too bad, bud looks fine.
If she was farther away from harvest there more you could do, but if she’s only a week away from cutting down flush and use flawless finish (or whatever flushing solution you use) :raised_hands:t2: Best of luck girl!

Thought you are not supposed to ph RO water
