Mother plant stem splitting?

So this is my mother plant I’ve had her for 4-5 months now managed to get 7 clones off her to successfully root have no idea the strain but she’s doing a thing and I don’t like it

Is this how it thickens up or is something wrong with her

Could you use one of her previous clones as the next Mother to keep the strain going? Or pull anoter set of clones from her to find another mother?

With this run, I just wanted to Learn the basics of cloning before I actually invested in any more seeds so I could, but I’ll probably Put her in flower take a few more clones from her for a good yield. But do you think she’s dying?

I haven’t kept enough mother plants myself to know the signs of trunk stress but the really tight node spacing looks just like my previous attempts. They turn into monster crop plants and grow unruly. How does the veg growth look up top? That should tell you a lot when she’s revegging.

Looks weird to me. You have lots of branches really close together. Normally you have a few inches between leaf nodes (where the leaves come out of the stem).

Is it possible I had lights to close not letting it reach more or is it just a mutation? I guess looking back now my last grow it wasn’t all knotted up like that. I’m gonna take some more healthy cuts and send her into the flower tent

Being a mother you will take those bottom branches as your clones. My practice is to make another mother and flip last mother when new 1 takes. A full plant picture helps.

I’ve had some tight node spacing but nothing like that. Could be lights were too close. I had my lights too close on a couple earlier grows and ended up with spacing so tight I couldn’t even get 90 degree clips on em.

Haven’t seen that before but it looks to me that there’s just no room for the nodes to expand and winds up splitting its skin. :v:
