Mother Earth Terracraft

I picked up a bag of Mother Earth Terrafarm potting soil today. I plan to mix it 50/50 with coco coir and then add a small bag of perlite to it. It’s going into the 5 gallon grow bags I got from ILGMs 420 giveaway. I’m going to put them on ACI self watering bases and put them out on the deck. The strain lineup so far is 2 Hash Burger, 2 Tropicana Cookies , and 1 Purple Kush.

Sounds like an awesome lineup! :ok_hand::clap:

I goofed, should be Terracraft not Terrafarm

I don’t know if mixing coco coir and soil is good they have different ph requirements I’ve never tried so not positive but I’m sure others will chime in

Fixed :two_hearts:

I was under the same assumption.

@Budbrother (Thank you in advance)

^ This man will tell us if it’s good and teach us why, properly.

Google and Reddit say you can mix them no problem but we know better and we don’t trust their advice. :sweat_smile::joy:

They just say adding coco shifts the medium closer to hydro requirements (pH).

Everything I’ve read is that mixing coco and perlite into soil promotes better drainage and aeration.

I did it in my first grow. Transplanted soil into coco. If its mixed even, I would shoot for 6.2-6.3 and keepan eye on lower leaf color. If they start burning bring it up a little. Basically you’re going to have soil that drains well.

It converts soil-less medium into soil with pH range being a hybrid of 6.2-6.3 as Sausage said. Coco still gonna sequester Ca so demand is gonna be higher than typical soils.
