Hello…! Im a newbie and this is my first grow unfortunately i dont have access to foxfarm ect… type of product for my medium or potting mix. Now ive seen this online
40% soil base
20% coconut fibre
20% perlite
10% vermiculite
10% earthworm humus
Will like to know if its anything I can actually use, i moved out of the states and it will cost me a fortune moving soil bags around to shipped them so im just trying to mix the best soil under the circumstances…is there a formula u may know or can i use ?
Good luck with that Growmie but would recommend not mixing coco and soil. 2 different PH requirements
Honestly I don’t know what im doing and im looking for some alternatives, what could potentially be a good way of mixing to get a properly made medium ? Thank you up front!!!
What’s available for mediums. Are you planning on an organic grow or plan on using synthetic fertilizer? 70/30 coco to perlite would be my suggestion with synthetic fertilizer if that’s an option
So, i do have the foxfarm trio feeding botles and yes i do want to go synthetic. As far as availability i can get my hands on .
-Coco coir
-worm casting
-perlite
-vermiculite
-black dirt for garden(nothing added)
And i dont if theres anything else useful in local stores that may be of great use!
I would stick with coco then. As @OGIncognito stated, not a good idea to mix soil and coco, as they each have differing pH and watering requirements.
Don’t forget to buffer your coco.
Thanks !
