I predict one party will pass it and the other party won’t.
I wonder which will do which?

I think I know…LOL!

At this point in time, it would be smart for either party to vote yay to help their political career.

I don’t see the high taxes as a good part. Which by the way is what this is really about.

The House has actually already voted on this once already in December of last year.
These were the results…

“The vote was largely along party lines – 228-164. Five Republicans and the lone independent member joined Democrats to pass the bill, and six Democrats voted no.”

I guess it’s too much personal responsibility for the party of personal responsibility.
Must suck to be so easily predictable!

Yeah, I had no idea , This would be a huge step in the right direction. :crossed_fingers:

Its expected to have similar results this time around as well

Of course it is. If they weren’t reaping benefits off it this would never be considered.

Anyone read the bill? Is there language about taxation? Legal states already tax it enough.

Edit: the word “tax” appears in the text of the bill 147 times.

Well technically it could pass along party lines, as all legislation is now and days, and as mentioned, I don’t know why Schumer wouldn’t as it would be a boon to whichever party passes it.
Unfortunately Dems have a slim majority and at least 2 secret Republicans, so chances ARE slim, but better than they were under a Republican controlled Congress.
If the numbers were reversed this thread wouldn’t exist, so that’s something to celebrate!
Unfortunately I fear we’ll be moving backwards come November and all hope will be gone.

It’s a sad state of affairs when SPITE is the deciding factor in legislation that could truly change peoples lives. And spite is all they know up there now and days. .

Five republicans voted for it in 2020. At least one of them co-sponsored the bill. I would expect more to cross over this time. It’s time they come around.

For sure. Regardless of the outcome, it is a step in the right direction either way. Its only a matter of time. A recent poll showed over 90% of americans are for it!

They won’t! Sad, but true I fear.

Passed along party lines in my state more or less.

Plus, there’s always a loophole! See what happened in South Dakota?
Passed the vote by the PEOPLE, Republican governor said no and guess what - you can’t have weed in South Dakota!

Don’t believe this government “for the people and by the people” any further than you can throw it!
