Midget plant RDWC

What’s that hose? It looks like it has algae in it or something.
Be sure the water gets changed regularly and it’s getting plenty of aeration.
After a complete change of the water, you might need to do some peroxide treatments. I usually do 5ml/gal of 3% daily for a few days if things get funky.

As I said; you have a root issue. That sounds like root rot which will require you to sterilize your grow and reset. Wash roots with a 50/50 solution of peroxide and water, rinse the totes with the same and run through your tubing.

My guess is you do not have a chiller. This is why you absolutely need one when growing DWC. Growing RDWC with a chiller is your best bet for a trouble-free grow.

Did thorough cleaning found a clot of roots stuffed in a pipe idk WTF did that, but alas I kept scrubbing away, didn’t do the peroxide yet, but all is clean, switched out tubing from the algae one to clear clean. I don’t have a chiller but my waters temp remains at 68 fahrenheit I forlive in the chicago so it is rather cold these days. Hopefully they recovered once I deploy the peroxide last part.

I would think about adding additional (blue) airstones to both your rez and totes. Bump up the O and that will help too. Definitely going to need to wash roots with peroxide before anything else and may have to remove dead root material.

what brand chiller you recommend?

My system is about to expand to a full 50 gal system plus reservoir.

You don’t use chillers with autopots, it’s not a full hydroponic system. My water is the temp of my room, around 71 degrees.

I have a very small volume and get by on a DIY install, so I’ve not used a commercial chiller. The Active Aqua has been pretty popular though, and the 1/4hp should fit with a rating in the 40-92 gal range.

Active Aqua is what I have. Mine is 1/4 horsepower.

Wouldn’t a 1/10 hp sufficisice? I don’t mind if it’s slow, didn’t slow and steady win the race? I’ve not as many funds for a full on 1/4hp, namely since I have to get another autoph doser for the pH up solution

Probably but when I bought mine the 1/4 horse was $10 more.

This is the chiller that I’ve been using and it works great. It’s also extremely quiet.
