Merlin's Grow Log (Part 2)

Happy Father’s Day to you @Growmoredank.

We never had any kids other than cats. The cats are all deceased now.

Shell loves seeing the wild animals that come around. I setup the camcorder (4K) to get some video that she can watch whenever she wishes. A couple of does come around that are close to dropping fauns. I hope to get video of the moms with their babies for her when they start birthing.

To improve the chances of getting great shots, I put critter crunch food out for them. Not a great idea, I know. It isn’t like we are luring them away from their natural habitat…they live in the forest which is 30 feet from our house.

For the birds and squirrels the critter crunch is lunch time. For the deer it is like ice cream time. :joy: The deer suck it up like hoovers.

What a great idea, I can imagine how much Shell likes the live video feed!
Oh man, to be that close to the forest! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I love pine trees so much!
We aren’t that close at all to our local forest, though our backyard is mostly natural and with some pines, long story short, and it links to other natural areas, so we get some critters.
I admit, when produce needs tossing, I usually toss it in the backyard , and it doesn’t last long.

Anyway, keep us updated on the does, feel free to post any deer baby pics.

I put kitchen trimmings out for the critters. Also, any vegies that are past their prime. I was amazed when I put some asparagus out…I thought they would go nuts for it. They did eat it but it took over two weeks for the to eat it. Was not their favorite.

All the lovely plant festivities over there, look great!

Asparagus … I can’t blame them for saving it for later, if needed.

Cabbage, somebody out there likes it.
The other day, I tossed some outer-most cabbage “leaves” and a core from a head that I was done chopping.
The next day, it was all gone, lol, I don’t think a bunny hopped off with the head.

Similar recently with a bad batch of baby carrots, a two-pound bag (I didn’t put the actual plastic bag out, lol) was gone the next morning.
Other things, too, but sometimes it takes a couple days.

The White Truffle Experiment grow is two days old. Just one problem child…WTE-3 came up with just a single cotyledon.

The WTE group (toddlers)

WTE-3

I am taking bets! Will WTE-3 survive? Get your bets in while the getting is good. :joy:

Will she survive?
  • Yes, the force is strong in this one…
  • Nope, she doesn’t want to!

must be that northwest ocean air causing this…ahahahahahahaha

Yes it will! Under the care of your experienced hands its future is so bright it will have to wear shades! Well unless it’s culled

Thanks @kaptain3d, funny that I didn’t even think of that.

That must be it…ocean is nearly 50 miles to the west, over the mountains. :joy:

Wow! No pressure, for sure. :joy: I have no plans to cull, so it is safe from me. :joy: :smiling_face_with_horns:

A cutie, another Kermit the Frog impersonator sprout!
Supposedly, plants like to be sung to.
So here’s a short video song that might get her going, and it ends with, “You found a home at the magic store!”:+1:

I think that WTE-3 is trying to produce actual leaves, I think. :exclamation_question_mark:

It is difficult to see…Do you see anything happening here?

This is a zoom in of what it looked like yesterday.
