Sorry for the crummy pictures. This is the second harvest of Mei Ling, my Mandarin Cookies indoor plant and I just can’t decide if it’s time to break out the pruning shears. Please let me know what you think.
Look ready enough to me to chop.
Thanks @convertgrower, I’m poised with my shears, but cannot see much in the way of amber trichomes, except on the purple sugar leaves. I think it’s ready to go too, but thought I’d throw a few pics out to get crowd feedback.
You could let her go longer for some amber… It’s not like it’ll kill her LoL looks great ![]()

I’d let her go a little longer if it were my plant. Another week or two will have you about right ![]()
This is my third grow so I don’t have a huge amount of experience timing harvests, but since I prefer an active high over couch lock I’m leaning towards harvesting slightly early rather than slightly late.
If the peak THC potency is likely to be in another week, I probably wouldn’t be in trouble if I harvested now. Opinions?
yeah if you like that high. my wife likes the speedy high as well
Looks like you already harvest top buds
Yes, when I harvested the top buds, there were a handful of really small, scruffy looking under-buds that I decided to let grow out. each one of the little guys in the pictures are probably 1/4 - 1/3 oz each. small but pretty!
I decided to wait a couple of days and do the deed on Tuesday.
If it was mine I would chop but that is just my preference but I like to harvest earlier in the window rather than later. (So far no complaints from the family or friends)
You need to read the plants, watch their signs, and then pick the time. I have tried to look at trichomes and had my children do the same. We can’t tell! I go with 90% pistils amber I harvest.
Thanks @JaneQP , I think I’m of similar mind.
I don’t know if it is our green mutant eyes We cannot tell by looking at trichs.
I can’t see colors the way you can.
