Lost Hwy Farms 2023 season

One of the Hugel mound Tramp Tracks from GSCS, grasshoppers have put in their work this year and got their fair share of the pie. They take over quick if you give em the chance! Keeping the grass cut short definitely helps alot, but them chickens really cleaned them up!

It’s a wet one out there, the rain has rolled I’m, playing the late season games. Here’s were plants will really be put through the outdoor test yet again. These GSCS Glory Holes FEM (oreoz x Guide Dog) testers are holding their own, they were the first to go into flower and close to being ready for harvest in the next week.

Made an enzyme rich pumpkin fpj using pumpkins from our organic garden heres a short breakdown of how i do it

-Fresh picked pumpkins chopped into thumb size pieces

  • Layered into a 5 gallin bucket with equal parts brown sugar
  • Let ferment for 7 - 10 days before straining
  • Add to water at a ratio of 5 - 10 ml per gallon for a boost of nutrients and plant enzymes.

This can be scaled up or down to fit the quantity you need for your garden, super cheap and effective. Of course this will also be used to continually boost the pumpkin patch itself!

@Roadsideorganics.ok you just never see many growers shooting cannabis pics in wet, gloomy conditions. With the greenhouse blurred in the background, you really got the depth of field right. I shot a pic years ago of a plant in a pumpkin patch when there actually WAS frost on the pumpkin. I had to cover the plant that evening with a tarp due to the frost warning, the next morning at sunrise I noticed the frost…

GSCS tester in the greenhouse, after brutal hot start they have started to settle in some. Day 38 of flower and temps are starting to drop quick, the best time of year for deps. Couple more days till their final feeding of our Back Road Blooms topdressing

Beautiful buds. That fpj pumpkin soak. No water added? Just pumpkin guts and all? How do you store it? Refridge or just in a sealed container? Thanks for showing us your process. Very cool. Can you do the same with sqaush?
Kinda funny. It reminds me of my pops, he made pumpkin jack just add yeast

No water added for this style of fermenting, just the whole pumpkin, i saved some seeds for next years crop, and some brown sugar. Can most definitely donthis with squash, yellow squash and beets have been my go to for years!

For the first week after its made it will still gas off co2 so keep the lid loose or check every few days to release pressure. Otherwise i just store it in the cupboard or a roomtemp spot out of direct sunlight. Ive kept and used it for 6-12 months before, the only time you really need to wprry about mold taking it over is if you did not use a fully clean container to ferment in or store it in. There are the occasions where you can get white molds during the fermenting process but that can just be scraped off. In my experience produce purchased from the store has a higher likelihood of getting mold as opposed to fresh picked

The neem cake in your feed, whats its purpose?

It is a great slow release input for trace minerals and micro nutrients, is also great at combating/preventing parasitic nematodes and root aphids. Along with a great NPK of 6-1-2 is also a great sourse of food for soil microbiology
