Looks like powder mildew in soil

In my 3 gallons it looks like I could be getting powdery mildew on the soil surface. Don’t have pictures because I know to keep it wet till I can get a diluted peroxide sprayed on the surface. Correct? Then will probably have to recharge? Just looking for confirmation on this being the correct course of action. Could be salt build up, but should’ve been washed away last watering. @PharmerBob @dbrn32 @Hellraiser I’m sure there’s more capable of answering, always draw a blank.

Ive hap wpm on plants in the spare bath. Never have i seen it on tge soil or coco. Salt buildup on soil and coco but not wpm. I would not put peroxide into the soil at all. It will kill everything beneficial in the soil and cause nithing but problems. Whats yhe temps in the room and rh usually day and night. Night temp is a. Ig deal with wpm if not held within 10 to 15 degree of the day temps. Causes the leaves to perspirate and causes wpm. Temp and rh have everything to do with wpm. I have a room i built does great. The spare bath gets stupid hott and its hard to get it in order without a total remod

Mid to upper 70s 24/7 keeping within the purple now.

currently 75/55%

As Mark said I personally don’t believe it to be wpm but probably salt build up as well or do you run a humidifier in youre tent and if so what type of water do you run in it?

I haven’t ran a humidifier in tent in over a month. I monitor a grow room with two tents. Flowering tent open when it’s lights are on. Veg tent always open. Was just using tap well water in it then though. Small sonic. with current humidity outside all I do is open the door when humidity gets out of the purple. ac controller is directly outside the room set to 68. Makes quick work.

Do you use softer salts on youre well water im assuming if so its probably sediment from the water

The water is ran through a zero filter. Has 0 ppm before adding calmag and nutes, or just calmag and pH on occasion, like two days ago. Why I figure any salts should’ve been washed away

Do u have a descent magnify glass. Look close at that spot does it look like spores like wpm itll look like white covid spots basically lol. Salt will look crystally and diamondy look wpm is white white under magnify

I read you’re message wrong so nvm haha I thought you said you was watering with well water but I still personally think its some type of salt build up and not wpm id keep a close on on it tho remove the small part that alarmed you and keep a eye on it but especially with being in coco I don’t forsee you getting wpm in youre actuall medium unless you had horrible airflow and overly saturated medium

It’s happy frog. Some days it got left shut, but the exhaust sucks the walls in well and rear vent is always open. See picture above. Can’t tell if looks like salt or growing. Almost looks like trichomes, lol

Crystals is salt
Mesh webbing is mold/mildew

I had the same thing happening to my plant.
I moved the top soil around with my finger and when I watered her the next time I made sure I soaked the top soil real good and the next day it was gone.
I don’t think anything to worry about.but we’ll let the experts verify what your problem can be.
Hope this helps

Ok. Will hold off on it for now. Used the pump to essentially do that.

Take a big ass spoon and scrape out that section of the soil without mixing it to fall on to other soil and pitch it. Top the plant with a layer of new and hope for the best. Its not as white as i see my wpm thru a magnify glass. It is more gray looks so might be salts but id still scrape it out carefully as to not spread incase. Better safe than sorry.

The closeup is helpful. It looks to me like it might be cobweb mold, which is white and fuzzy. I’m a mushroom grower and deal with it all of the time on the surface of spawns. It is caused by too much moisture.

A light misting with a dilute peroxide solution would kill it instantly. Please note though the above comments on peroxide and its ability to kill beneficial bacteria/microbes. You don’t want to spray very much at all - just enough to moisten the very top layer.

A baking soda solution spray would probably be safer and equally effective.

I’ve even heard that neem oil can help with mold problems.

It’s much more than that, as everything is wet. I’ll cover them all and monitor. I’ll keep it wet till harvest if I have to. But one is barely past transition, guess it’ll be a long fight if it comes to that. And the way I intend to use the peroxide if needed won’t penetrate more than the top inch before it dissipates. H2o2 evaporates a good rate that penetration is controllable.
Hydrox/PerDiem is by far my favorite cleaner. Obviously won’t be using that for this though. Will use 3% diluted to 10-15% of that. With a spray bottle on the lightest mist when the soil is drying
