I am looking at so many damn lights and is kinda overwhelming. I am torn between spider Farmer sf4000 optic 6 and mars hydro. Looking to spend around 600 or so. Advice is much appreciated.
What size space are you wanting to light. Also how soon do you really need it.
Those that know will ask about your space, size, tent or room? Are you going to use it for veg, flower or both? Are you a DIY’r. The SF uses good diodes that are popular around here. HLG and its quantum boards are also very popular
I have a 5x5 for flower. Not looking to build a light. @Bulldognuts I was wanting to get it in a week or so, i can wait longer for a deal, my veg wont be done for a few more weeks. @beardless
I was familiar with sf4000 and Mars hydro. I had heard of Optic 6 but not familiar with it. Are you going to use it for flower only or Veg and flower. Based on your response to @beardless it seems that you are going to use it for flower. I believe that if you are going to spend $600 you should seriously consider HLG lights. Also noticed that the Optic 6 is considerably more expensive than the other two. I’m going to tag a @dbrn32 he will be better to give you a opinion of the the lights you’re looking at and whether they will flower a 5x5 space.
I have just bought HLG’s 260 boards and can’t fault them. Customer service was on point and although the boards are badged as “diy” it’s a case of screwing the boards to the heatsink, plugging two wires in, attach the hangers and you’re good to go. You also have to join the wires for the power supply that fit inside a waterproof connector. If you can wire a plug you can wire an HLG board.
I wouldn’t buy sf or or mars, if I was going to buy optic maybe the slim 600. Otherwise they are guilty of same stuff as the other two companies.
@dbrn32 what would you go with??
For flowering a 5x5, something from fluence like spydr 2i or equivalent.
Electric Sky 300v2… veg n flower a 2x4. Adjustable. Aint cheap but ive seen dramatic change between the Vipar PAR600s and this new light. Like um so much I bought a second.
Im not a Electrician nor a Horticulturist but I know what my ladies like…What about the covert led-x 500??
