Hi all ! I am currently setting up a room to start my first stealth grow. The room is roughly 8× 8 so I am getting ready to purchase a 4x4x6.5 tent for flowering, and a 2x3×6.5 for seed starting / drying. Im looking for a good system with automated controls so leaning towards ACI but open to suggestions. I am going to grow with soil in 5 gallon fabric pots and would love suggestions on bloom boosters. So excited to start this new gardening journey Hope everyone is having a great day and thank you in advance for any information
Welcome to the forum! Great place to be I run ACI equipment and love it. Make sure to not cheap out on lights, it’s one of the most important things. Also, a good Ph and PPM meter. As far as nutes go, I run Jacks321. Simple, user friendly, and you can run it from start to finish. Happy growing!
Welcome
Thank you ! I will look more into the jacks. Will definitely be posting for more help to make sure light is up to the task at hand before I make the purchase
Thank you
Yep everything they said.
Welcome aboard!
Ask away someone is always eager to help and make sure you succeed.
A few great auto growers would be @MeEasy , @Autos-only , @Dman1969 …
And Welcome to the forum Madame @SqbodyMama
Thank you
Thank you! I will definitely be asking lots of questions
This is one of the most important things your going to purchase. If you can’t afford a good light (at least $250 up to $1200 And possibly more. Save up so you don’t wind up buying another light down the road. You can get away with a cheap light in veg but in flower you need good lighting
@dbrn32 is the ilgm light guru along with several others that know a lot about lights.
I own two very expensive but extremely good lights. One was $1099.00 list and the other was 1299.00 list. I got both with a 25% discount from HLG and it’s the best investment I’ve made.
Welcome to the forum. You will get great suggestions from a lot of very knowledgeable growers. I would love to follow along if you keep this post open for your journey.
I’m an ACI guy. If your thinking 4x4, consider a 5x5. The additional space is really a luxury. And it makes maneuvering around in the tent so much easier. Get at least the PRO+ controller with 8 ports. 4 just isn’t enough. Also consider the rechargeable carbon filters. They come with one refill and replacing the charcoal is significantly less expensive. I’ve been seeing more and more growers with multiple lights as opposed to 1 very powerful light. 4- EVO 4 or similar lights would be ideal, and you could have a few different types of plants at different stages and be able to adjust accordingly for each. Auto pots are also a good choice if your not into daily watering and runoff disposal. But as I think most will say, Your light/s will probably be your very most important factor. Get good lighting from the start. And a good set of Apera TDS and PH pens. Buy once, cry once holds true for those last 2 items.
Thank you:) I have been saving up but might have to go with a lower end of the acceptable in one tent for the time being but will upgrade as I can and retire the unused light to my everyday growing endeavors I was planning on putting the better light in the bigger tent that will be used for flowering.
@SqbodyMama Sister they make good lights on the lower end. Go to HLG’s website they have good refurbished lights too. They sell really quickly
Welcome and good luck with your adventure. I was a lurker here for awhile before joining. Seems to be a lot of friendly people and good advice that people are willing to freely share. I ended up using the best light made for my growing, but it’s really hard to fit the sun in a 8x8 room let alone a 4x4 tent…lol. Best of luck.
I have a lot of ac infinity equipment and run all of it in manual. Make sure you need each component before buying any of it. Their duct fans are nice because they are relatively quiet and very efficient. But most conditions warrant leaving these on all the time, so no need for automation. About the only other things you need for inside of your tents is circulating fans and light. The circulating fans can and probably should run all the time too, and you can control lights with easily replaceable $10 timer.
I would rather see you buy a decent light and try to tweak your setup without fancy controllers. They can sometimes be more hassle than they are worth.
Dont forget smart plugs that you can set timers and control manually by wifi. I put all my stuff on smart plugs and can control from anywhere.
@SqbodyMama welcome to the family my friend happy growing
Welcome to the forum great place to learn and very helpful growers here as stated lights and air movement are most important spider farmers has some good lights not as expensive as some but work great i have the sf2000 evo and love it amazon always having sales on them but like said dont cheap out on lights,ph pen,and tds meters they are vital to growing and knowing whats going in and out ouf your plants😁
