The Nevada rule that prevents anyone that lives within 25 miles of a dispensary from growing, prevents me from growing my own… and I can not afford the outrageous prices these dispensaries charge.
Nevada marijuana laws do allow grower’s to GIVE away up to an ounce of what they have grown. If you have some extra and would like to share, I would be very thankful for your kindness.
I am a kind heart’ed and honest 45 year old male who can not afford anything to help take the edge off when needed. FYI, for those looking to make a little extra cash… I am broke, so even if I wanted to… I wouldn’t be able to pay anything under the table.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day
Hello, and welcome to the forum! I’m sorry to hear about your situation, and I’m sure there is more than one member that would be willing to help you out. However, forum policy does not allow members to exchange personal information or arrange for exchanging of cannabis/related items.
If there’s any other ways in which we can help, please let us know.
I was unaware of the forums policy in regards to this matter, dbrn32. Thank you very much for welcoming me to the forum and informing me of this. I imagine I can probably expect the same sort of policy with all marijuana related forums. Thats too bad. This was my last hope of finding a way to unwind without having to be sober.
I’m not sure to be honest, doesn’t hurt to look around I would say.
Welcome to ILGM, @Buddy024! Do you have a medical card? That affords you some loopholes/options for growing in town. I’m in Vegas, too. There’s a handful of us on here, but like @dbrn32 said the forum rules prevent us from meeting up, unfortunately.
Thanks for the tip, elheffe. My roommate use to have a medical card but he let it expire once marijuana was legalized since he don’t smoke very often and the card cost so much to renew every year. If having the card allows him to grow his own then maybe I have a reason to try and convince him to renew it again.
Excellent point about medical card! I believe it does allow you to grow right?
elheffe, you mentioned you are in the Vegas area too. Do you grow outside, and if so are you able to grow outside all year round? Or does the Vegas weather only permit you to grow during certain months of the year?
I’m not growing at all now, I’m in an apartment that forbids it. But I grew indoors, year round. This is from NRS Chapter 453a:
6. Notwithstanding any other provision of law and except as otherwise provided in this subsection, after a medical marijuana dispensary opens in the county of residence of a person who holds a registry identification card, including, without limitation, a designated primary caregiver, such a person is not authorized to cultivate, grow or produce marijuana. The provisions of this subsection do not apply if:
(a) The person who holds the registry identification card was cultivating, growing or producing marijuana in accordance with this chapter on or before July 1, 2013;
(b) All the medical marijuana dispensaries in the county of residence of the person who holds the registry identification card close or are unable to supply the quantity or strain of marijuana necessary for the medical use of the person to treat his or her specific medical condition;
(c) Because of illness or lack of transportation, the person who holds the registry identification card is unable reasonably to travel to a medical marijuana dispensary; or
(d) No medical marijuana dispensary was operating within 25 miles of the residence of the person who holds the registry identification card at the time the person first applied for his or her registry identification card.
Very specific exceptions, but if you fall into one of them, you’re golden. Also, they don’t go knocking down doors for personal grows. If you have permission from the owner, keep it stealthy and quiet, and keep your mouth shut, you’ll be fine. The laws are there, but they aren’t enforcing them for small grows, mainly larger, black market grows.
Great, now all I need to do is steal my roommates car and hide it so he has no transportation to the dispensary! lol… thanks for the info. At least now I know.
“Because of illness” is pretty broad, don’t you think?
