Look, I made dis SCROG net and you can too!

I just wanted to share my DIY SCROG net. You guys, so easy. It did not take hours. It took barely an hour.

It weighs near nothing. The secret is to put your screws in the PVC halfway, so ur rope has something to wrap around and the screw can hold on to the PVC. I reinforced my plant stems on two sides with jute taped to my pot to give them extra support.

The whole thing cost just a hair under $40 and it’s a reusable fixture. You could go cheaper with wood lats, but idk how long that’ll last in direct sunlight and high moisture. The PVC elbows were $33 each online and $5 each in store, so DO shop around. Next grow, you could adjust to higher or lower legs anytime you want, so long as 4 are the same length.

I fully intend to get some adjustable ratchet hangers (like on ur lights) to put in a 4x4” squared hanging SCROG net later on. That’s one less 10’ PVC pipe I’ll need to buy.

I’m telling y’all, forget about those flimsy stretch nets that ya use one time and tatter up. I hear they slide all over the place and grow mildew. Make your own custom net. If I can do it, I know y’all can. You guys are a lot smarter than me or at least more meticulous.

Happy Growing!

Even better is to drill a hole all the way through and thread your twine through the holes. A rectangular grid also allows more freedom to thread branches through the net.

I also recommend one screen per plant as I’ve never had two plants mature at the same time, you can’t rotate plants easily and if you have an issue it gets tough to extract said plant from the screen.

Nicely done SCROG!

Looks great! You’re gonna beat yourself up after chop using twine/string like that tho. It frays off and strands get all over and in the buds.

@Borderryan22

Looking at creating something like this, what would you recommend instead of twine/string?

Nylon. Nothing fiberous like gardening twine, it frays and teeny pieces shoot everywhere and get all up in the flower.

Paracord is always a good choice it doesnt need to be load/weight bearing
So any gauge shoukd do but you can probably get some 550 cheaply its more or less all purpose
