Broke down and got a tent (32”x32”x63”). Going to move my whole set up to the utility room in the basement. Wife said that’s ok bc my grow section is taking up part of the garage and has a pungent smell. Just waiting for the rest of my supplies (charcoal filter, vents, temp/humidity meter and small fans to show up). https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CP52GT6S?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image
I’m also 100% certain it will help my grow bc I’m having trouble keeping temps and humidity in check.
@Autos-only advice on my Santa Marta Haze? Patience?
She started flowering week of July 4th.
The basement is probably going to be a much better option. The only thing I see is that 63" Isn’t very tall. How tall are your plants now? You might want to consider some sort of training and tying to give room for your light gap.
You still have a few weeks to go. The pistils will usually turn orange/red around the time you enter the harvest window. Beyond that you need jewelers loupe or pocket microscope to look at the tricomes to judge ripeness.
My auto is 44” stretch done and full on into bud. Maui Wowie is 44” still in reach mode and took it off its booster to give it more distance from the light. Gorilla G4 is 49” and shows no signs of stopping in any direction and is just a massive tree. It’s crazy how different they all are going to be in finished height.
I still have more vertical room in the garage for the light… so to your point the tent may be too short with all the equipment inside.
Keeping in mind my lights weren’t the best to start so the GG4 would/could be more compact next time for sure. The other two would be also. The MW is already compact so I’ll have to watch it. Going to go down to two plants next grow so I can focus on LST.
All the advice. I’m sure there are things I don’t know.
I’m glad she’s good looking.
During flower:
Height of lights from top cola?
Trimming for air flow?
How to make bigger and fatter buds?
Best temps/humidity?
Should or shouldn’t grow with photos? Does 12/12 light affect them negatively?
Flush or no flush before harvest?
Do you flush like every two weeks (nutes, nutes, water, nutes, nutes, water)?
Harvest:
I understand the cloudiness/amber of the trichomes… what else do you look for?
We will start from the beginning and work our way down!
The distance from the is going to greatly depend on your light, down load the Photone app and use the camera with a peice of printer over it to dial in your DLI. Should be around 40-50.
Airflow is important! Helps keep mold and pests away and keeps moisture from forming on the leaves. Remember tho, leaves are the solar panels that make the energy for growth. Good air circulation and trimming from time to time will be good enough, you will eventually find what you like to do and works best for YOU.
Getting big fat buds! Number one is GENETICS! You can’t feed a black lab to grow into a Great Dane!
Second will be environment! You need a solid and stable environment for good healthy plants! This will include good lighting, not too much and not too little.
Good temperature and humidity to allow the plant warmth for higher metabolism rates while keeping humidity in a good range so the plant doesn’t demand lots of water and get stressed, this would be called a good VPD.
Making sure feeding is proper and watering to go runoff.
Make sure the ph and ppm going in and running out are acceptable.
I like to run 79-82 in seedling, veg and early flower around 60% humidity. Mid to late flower I go cooler temps and lower humidity like 75, 50-55%
You can run photos and autos together absolutely! You can also run them 12h, they don’t care, just make sure you are giving them the proper DLI we talked about up above.
flushing before harvest is bro science, some do some don’t. I don’t.
But! Watering to proper runoff to help rid the build up in the soil is very important! If you do it well you will have a lot less problems and no need to flush throughout the grow.
Looking at the trichomes is the only real way, you need to look at the ones located on the flower itself, NOT SUGAR LEAVES!
I hope this helps!
