Title says it. I started researching supplemental/side grow lights yesterday. I’m growing in a soil medium in a 2x2 grow space with 300W full spec LED. Is it worth it to invest in more lights with a 2x2 space?
If the strain matters im growing some White Widow. They’re just entering veg and are about three weeks old. Relative lux measures around ~800-1000k and I have the lights about 18” from tops of canopies.
From my little research, it sounds like investing in lights would be OK- particularly later down the rd once they’re taller. But in you guys experience, would it even be worth spending another $300-500 for what another ounce or two? Or would more light increase the yield of two plants exponentially?
I also plan to LST them both and top them once they both grow another node or two. Right now they both are on node 3.
Yes and no. There’s a point of diminishing returns where the extra cost of the lights and running more lights doesn’t translate to proportional improvements in yield/quality. I’m sure someone with more experience and knowledge will be along to give to more specifics.
I think @Hellraiser grows exclusively or almost exclusively in tents and has been doing so for a lot longer than I have. He could give you more info.
Preciate it boys…from the sound of it it does sound like yeah they would “benefit” and sure the weed would be better but the amount of money spent on running two LEDs in a smaller space might be a bit of a stretch at this point.
I would invest the money into HLG lights. They pay for themselves off one crop. I drove 2200 miles three times so 6600 miles and close to $6k for quality bud.
My first full crop under my 2 HLG 260xl rspec yielded me 2 lbs dried, cured and no stems. They are that good.
