So should I be leaving the purple light on at night or should it be pitch black in the tent

Okay just saw your other thread. Thatâs where you should have put this question. Anyway, if theyre, photos and you flipped them to flower, you want it pitch black at lights off time. Light leaks can cause hermaphrodites.

The moon doesnât have any measurable light output. Seems bright to our eyes, but plants canât see it.

I would say it has to be the wavelength needed for conversion, as those are a reflection less likely.
Agree with @BobbyDigital , street light, house LEDâs, car lights, etc. each has enough of the frequency spectrum to be absorbed and if left on long enough close enough the plants will convert the energy.

Correct. As you stated above, the moon is reflected light. Where most of the light is absorbed by the moon. Whatâs passed onto us is diffused light that is something plants canât process.

Probably should mention I canât speak to green light affecting a plant in flower if left on continuously as there are many measurable wavelengths that plants can absorb. So I just want to say if anyone is planning to use green just keep that in their mind. I use it as an emergency light on a headlamp.

Nasa and Oxford measured plant response with green wavelengths. Study is probably on here in a few places, but has been years since I posted it. I would avoid using if possible, if absolutely necessary as dim as possible and for as short of time as possible.

Do you by chance remember the name of the study, lol. Iâve been searching for a couple days on my scholarly database wanting to add this to my reading list but I am not having a lot of luck.
I have no idea, but I know they are out there. Nasa specifically has a ton of these documents in relation to their work with growing with artificial light. These were first couple of Google hits. Iâm sure if you scroll to footnotes there are a bunch of supporting articles too.
