Has anyone ever went from 18/6 lighting to 24 hrs periodically in veg stage? Do you think it will stress the plant or turn it to a Hermie? @Majiktoker @DissidentPriest @Oldstoner @Matthew420 @Hawkeye_diesel or anyone:thinking:
I haven’t ever did it. I just do 18/6, sorry brother
That’s OK thanks for the quick response @Hawkeye_diesel😁
No problem brother, that’s what I’m here for. I’m sure someone else can help you out on this one
I’m not positive but I would think any change back up in lighting times especially fluctuating times would be a coin toss on creating a Hermie.
I start at 24 on for the first 3 weeks then 20 / 4 for a week and go to 18 / 6 a couple of weeks then 12 / 12 this grow I am trying the 11 / 13 for the last half of bloom with 36 hours dark right before harvest
Thanks @Oldstoner you’re growing autos right?
Disregard that last question @Oldstoner
Google how a C4 plant photosynthesis, very interesting information.
OK @yoshi will do that. Thanks😁
No sir one gold leaf female and a girl scout cookie extreme female . I have never tried a auto I want to but every time I order I end up going for the longer grow time and bigger yield of the feminized seeds . I have these two strains plus White Widow / Super Skunk / and Green Crack so I will not be investing in more for a while unless they are autos though .
OK I just forgot I asked about the veg stage, I thought you were talking about the whole process. Thanks a lot!!
If you just make the switch just once it won’t hurt any thing.
But if you were to keep doing that switching the light ya you will chhange things for the worst.
Will
Thanks @garrigan62
@Oldstoner what is a extreme female ?
It is the girl scout cookies from ilgm . Thay are a hybrid mix of gsc and ww extreme. It is just what ilgm calls thier version of gsc
Oh ok I thought it was a crazy new thing I needed to get in on lol @Oldstoner
I like Girl Scout
That’s some good stuff
Just like us, the plant really does need a “sleeping” period. I know some people who go as high as 20/4 light schedule during veg, but I have always stuck with 18/6. I don’t know if upping the lighting time would cause hermies in veg. I have seen where taking a flowering plant back to veg, and then back to flower caused it to hermie.
Thanks @DissidentPriest I think I’ll keep it 18/6.
Hi- hoping it’s ok with @Macadon to ask here - but @Oldstoner would you recommend this for an auto to increase quality and/or yield? I’m new at this, still learning.
Hello @Sl1 not really autos go on a genetic timer and will flower no matter the schedule of lighting and while I have never grown one I have seen the mentors and others say it is better to give autos more light . Many just leave them on 18 / 6 because of the limited time they have to put on weight and they grow faster with more light to convert into energy. I am going with a shorter light schedule to try and see if it helps produce more trichomes as I have heard
